Several years ago, a local Chevy dealership (Jet Chevrolet) bought an airworthy MiG 21 with the intention of mounting it on a pole in the lot. The whole thing fell through when they ran into permit problems. They sold it to a museum in Oregon that intended to fly it. Last I heard, it had completed gear retraction tests.

Some people in this hobby have wayyyyyy too much money and time on their hands !!!
Looks like he's trying to turn it into a EDF version.
I wonder where he got those LED lights.
He's got enough room for a JetCat P200 in there.
And here's the kicker ....
The video was filmed from a drone.

sysik - A few years back there was an ad in Trade-A-Plane from a dealer in the Southwest USA. He had bought a large lot of Polish Airforce obselete equipment, and was offering Mig 15's for 20,000. mig 17's for 30,000, and spare engines for 10,0000 (and me without any storage space). Now sure how he was handling the Permits. I know the FAA would not issue a permit for any ex-military a/c that were supersonic .

Merlin 51 - sorry, I stand corrected on the FAA. I was playing an old tape where someone flying a "rebuilt from salvage " F104 ran into certification difficulties after some speed attempts.

The Flying Heritage Collection, owned by Paul Allen, maintains and flies a MiG 29 2-seater. Like the rest of this collection, it is absolutely immaculate.
