Hi Oli,
Sorry but this are the only two pics I have from late March when the A-10 was maiden. 16 great flights.
Then it was taken apart for the paint & graphics. I hate this part.

HI Oli,
Pics of the paint and gloss clear so we could install graphics, we painted it fully assemble do to the camo scheme we went with. It was very difficult to do, I have never painted, let alone a camo scheme.
A good friend helped, but we were both very redundant to pull the trigger on the paint gun. Fortunate to have a friend with a paint booth we could use, he was not able to make it that mourning do to a family illness.

Thanks
Robert

HI Bob,.

It looks great!

Do you have any pics of the wingtip lights? I have the D4S kit and it looks like I will cut the tan plastic pieces to allow the D4S lenses to fit into that piece...

Thanks for any help,
Dave

Bob, do you mind if I ask where you got your graphics?

I wonder if I will use the same ones as last time or not...(IN)

Hi Dave,
Some pics of the wing tip lights, and the graphic are from Taylor Made Decals, me and a friend ordered two sets, and we had a great experience with them.

Thanks for the pics.

I opened my lighting package from D4S last night and found that Dan has made a black base that I think will replace the tan plastic piece. I will have to confirm with him otherwise I will build mine similar to yours.

I think his piece will replace the tan one and is mostly ready to glue the lenses on but your technique looks more robust for holding the strobe lens.

Thanks very much,
Dave

I am trying to keep it light.

KT 140G's on my G4.

Great power and perfect fit with the rotating fans because of the short exhaust nozzle.

Hi Dave
Im using twin titans, I like the power that I have with those two turbines

I do have a suggestion, don't use anything smaller than 140s
I have a friend that maiden his A-10 at Mississippi afterburner, shortly after rotation he had one turbin flame out, while we were flying it he told me the single 140rx took everything it had to keep the A-10 flying. It was barely flying with one turbine at full power.

Thanks
Robert

It has been said before, but it's very important:

When using large engines (I would say larger than 120 size), the A-10 doesn't want to rotate if the take off power is more than aprox 70%.
It overspeed on the ground until it eventually jumps .... ugly and scary.
With the KT 140's, it almost floats at 65 -70% power.

Hold the take off power until a safe altitude before applying full power to avoid any low altitude pitch change. Or, go gently to full power.

If it tends to float too much on landing, add more nose weight. Unbelievable results.

Hi Jack
This problem has been resolved on the Gen 5
The turbines & Pipes are tilted up in the rear a few deg.

Thanks

I wish,
No it's a good 24hr drive for me, would have to take a week off from work.
Can't do that right now, there's also a local jet rally that same weekend.
Thanks
Robert
