Hi all,
I am getting to work on the fuselage, port side, fwd. Fwd of the ladder door there are two covers. I see just as many pictures of the plane without these two covers as I see with them. Is there a reason they/do or don't have them?
If I leave them off, you can see more screen detail and it is easier to paint, but otherwise I just wondered why they are there only on some planes.
Thanks
Dave

Hi guys,
I am working on my nose gear and I can't seem to find a picture online or in my books that give me enough detail about the lights on the nose gear and specifically the way the two brackets that hold the lights are attached to the strut cover.
Anyone have some pics?
The Gen5 latest version comes with incredibly detailed lamp/lens pieces that appear to be printed. Just amazing detail and I can put my D4S lights and waffle lenses in for brightness!

Oli,
Can you ask the guys that made the fuselage plywood trays to show us what they had in mind?
My last M A 10 I just did the trays myself, but it looks like these have some engineering already built into them - if I could figure out where they go?
I tried a few things but thought I would ask in case they have a sketch or picture that might save me a lot of time.
Thanks,
Dave
PS the clips and protective conduit are fantastic! Also the washers on my servo brackets are 0.45" dia, I think they work on the 8711.

Dave anytime I need fs codes I pm Harley Condra , the guy is a walking encyclopedia . Plus he has the color chart ! I got 2 Mibo's on the bench now so if you find out let me know. PPG is becoming a pain for some reason when I gave them FS codes for the QF-4B phantom they told me its only available in gallons in a line of paint I never heard of. They told me they cant cross it over to Omni, but if I bring them a color sample they will scan and match it.

Well I finally got my A-10 last week and finished up a some last little projects in the shop. Just getting things out of the box and reviewing what is there. I have looked over quit a few times what Oli has written in the manual. I guess he has a bit more to go on it, but it does give me a few places to start. For those that have started and made progress, could you shed some light on what you have found with the kit. Any hits or misses. Are you using the included hardware, if you have substituted, what have you used.
Thanks
Alan

Hi Alan
I built a Gen 5, I did use the stock hardware and haven't had any issue with it after 30 or so flights.
The only thing I recommend is check the steel pins on the flaps, and on the wings, I had a few of those come loose.
Happy Building
Thanks

Two Gen 4 In Texas were flown just a few times, because on every flight one of the 140rx flamed out.
I will say that it took everything that one 140 Rx had to keep those A-10 in the air.
so I would at least use 140s or bigger. Gen 5 are lighter so u mite be alright with two smaller turbines
I have two old JC Titans on mine. Lots of power.

Alan has got the Gen 5.5.
This plane was designed to be powered by two B-100F.
So 120 N is enough with the small tanks and turbines aligned with the thrust tube to avoid power loss.

Mike I didn't have the Ver. 4 or I guess 5, but what I am noticing on my airframe so far is the tremendous amount of scale details that were moulded into this frame. No lack of rivet markings, covers, scoops and the like. Obliviously Oli can tell you a lot more. Just initial observations so far.
Also just to elaborate on how the three big boxes arrived, everything was extremely well wrapped and packed. No chance of damage with that attention. Just wanting to sound out about that, when there are other threads out there about other manufactures' not doing a good job of packaging, Mibo does do it right in my experience. Considering it came all the way from Slovenia to Canada and I think through 2 air carriers.
