OK, now a time for the wing update. Started on the wings on Monday by pulling the retracts for inspection, tightening, and blue Loctite on all screws. Couple of notes, the wheel bearings are not pre-lubed, so pulling the wheels is a must do, I used a high temperature bearing lube on the wheel bushings, and also ground a flat spot on the axles for retention. No other issues of note, look like solid units. The servos, BillyD's select Hitech HS-7955TG's for there High Voltage capability, for the flaps and ailerons are mounted on the servo covers, a very convenient method, I like this.

Pretty slick linkage setup supplied for this model, all 3mm linkages, went together well. Gear doors tidied up and fitted nice, but be aware most of the screws/nuts are loose for final adjustments, so finished up with blue Loctite again on the door linkage, should be set now. Wing hoses and extensions all tidied up and ready for delivery to BillyD's this afternoon. The nose gear was also gone over, wheel bushings greased, and steering servo installed, ready for BillyD to install. Only thing remaining for a later date, installation of the lighting package, that's 2 landing lights and position lights, all for ElectroDynamics. We should see this one rolling down the runway very soon.

Well she is 96% ready to Go. Just have some more setup things to do and test. I will have it at Titusville tomorrow for all to see and criticize my work
Thank you Jim for the great work on the wings and gear!! We are going to try to get the maiden in Monday or Tuesday at the Nighthawks field.
Stay tuned for more updates Billy D

HI All, Well we did the maiden flight on Thursday. Jim took it off and trimmed it out and then handed over the sticks to me. It only took one turn to fill how very very smooth she it! So Jim yelled out to me to land it so I gave it a try. She will come in so much slower after some more flights. Here is the maiden vid. Thanks Jeff M for taking the vid.

Nice flight Billy and Jim. Fly's as good as it looks. Looking forward to watching it fly at KY . Could be a candidate for my next sport jet.

Billy gave me some stick time with the Viper this past weekend. Very smooth! This is a very enjoyable plane to fly, good presence in the air, extremely maneuverable, good high speed and low speed. Thanks Billy!

HI All, I got to install some of the lighting kit I received by Electro Dynamics in the Viper last night. WOW are they bright and they run very cool on 6.6v I'm going to run them on 7.4v with the provided inline resistor. I will let you know how that works out soon. All I have installed at this point is the wing lights. Im trying to find a good spot to put the green and red nav light Any help would be appreciated Thank you Billy D

Hey Billy,

I received my 2.5 meter Viper about three weeks ago, and unpacked it last week just for inspection. Wow, it is a very nice model, and I am extremely happy with it. This is going to be my winter project and do plan to install lights, so I will be following your light install closely. Keep the pictures and info coming.

Thanks,
Dave
