the elevon linkage came out nice with about 1" of threaded rod showing
I removed as few arms as possible until I am sure of the arm I will use. I don't have a bunch of extra mammoth arms laying around.
This is the max up elevon travel. It looks like plenty. the angle between the push rod and arm is very acute
this is the sharpest angle I could get with the slick clevice links Vladimir made. They need a deeper throat for the angle I need in the previous picture. That is why I have the sullivan clevices on there.
A little light sanding on the primer and just a few low spots to fill. A little more sanding ,panel lines, rivets and paint

the engine has a lot of mounting range
bolted on the flaps made a tool to hold the nut. an xacto blade with a tiny magnet.
Had to cut a relief slot to get the engine and mount in in one shot
wouldn't fall straight in. hatch mounts in the way. went in with a twist and into the relief cuts.
good clearance on the vertical post and bearing

A while back I decided I wanted a Smoking Tiger insignia on the Vigilante, RVAH-1. It would probably be a fantasy scheme. Then I recently found a story about Lt.Norrington and Lt. Tangeman RVAH-1 off the USS Enterprise, being shot down May 5th 1968. They both wound up being POWs. I decided to do their airplane in their honor BU NO 149278 . So I cut vinyl to what I thought the plane might look like. After cutting the vinyl I found an artist image of the plane. There is no USS Enterprise on the vertical in the image so I have some extra lettering. I started sticking a few on and my helper was working on his own temporary scheme.

Yes DD Ready by July 4th, along with three other 1/4 scale Panthers....................... TF When I painted the nose I totally forgot to frame out the back seat canopy. I may outline it with charting tape and reshoot the gray. The glass is no big deal ,a few small rectangles.

All the flap / flaperon servos are in the wing. I opened up a few areas to run the wits behind the servos. While there is room to run the wires under the inboard servos I wanted the keep the wires away from the linkages.

Very good. N low. Thank you Dennis
Here are the insignias printed on 8 1/2"x 11" Cricut vinyl. They are ink jet printed but are very water resistant. Methanol will wipe the ink clean alone with the printing surface on the vinyl.
