Oh what do I see? Jim McEwen's Rafale and Mr Margarita Machine? on its way.. clever.

Make sure its padded well so it won't get damaged... and the jet too..

Hi Tim, Dave here and we are coming to your event....1st timers!

Recommended by Dan Avilla who is a good friend of ours. We have a 28ft camper trailer and we'd like to reserve a spot next to Dan and Coleen's motorhome if you can tell me how to reserve that, I would be happy to complete any form etc. We are arriving Wed.

Please advise, thanks!

While I was only able to go for a while on Saturday, I got two good flights on my 1/4 scale Panther. It is a great event and a nice place to fly even with the stiff cross wind on Saturday.

Several days of open flying, LOTS of flights sun up to sun down, the flight line was full of jets, great food, great camaraderie and no drama.

Lots of Cool Jets!!

The field was in excellent condition, Pilots flew well, and everyone got some crosswind practice.. only a couple casualties.

All Brands of radios performed well, Not aware of a single radio issue

Turbines performed well in the humidity, with minor exceptions..

We had 16 Campers, most were able to connect..

Make your plans for next year!!.. It was a fantastic time

goose out..

Thank you Timmy !!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Jets over the Heartland event was a great success thanks to the people that helped to
organize it. It turned out to be one of the more relaxing events that i went to so far this year!!!!!!

If you missed it you missed out on a lot of fun and great times.

I would highly recommend that you put this event back on your calendar for next year!!!!!!!!!

This was my first Jets Over The Heartland (aka Winamac or "The Mac") and I don't think it would have been possible to have a better time. What a low-stress, drama-free event!!!!!! First of all, the field was in fantastic shape with all the grass having been mowed and rolled multiple times. It felt like flying out of a major league ball park with an asphalt runway. Flying starts whenever you want and goes on until about 9pm when it starts getting dark, at which time a wot of tomfoowewee kicks in. Ron Ballard (Wren) brought the man-grill and the ribs, tenderloin, chicken, and veggies were to-die-for. The frozen margarita machine churned out not only delicious adult beverages, but also snow cones for the little ones.

There were so many highlights that they are too numerous to mention them all. I particularly enjoyed the evening flight with Scott Harris and I flying our BVM Rafales, and overflying the field in Chris' Cirrus. Jet meets are not just about flying and it was great to hang out with some old friends and to make some new ones. Mucho gracias Andy and Goose for making it so easy for me to attend the event.

Many many thanks to CD-extraordinaire Tim Redelman and the club members for their work so that we could have a great time. I can't wait to go back to The Mac.

Regards,

Jim

Hello all,

Man what a great trip Winamac was for Johnnie and I. It was 13+ hours to get there and well worth it. We will definitely be going again! Thank you Tim for rolling out the welcome mat. We really felt at home the moment we arrived. The facilities were off the hook nice, the long paved runway with concrete taxiways and manicured grass all around. I felt like I was flying at a country club!

Each night there was excellent food served. Thanks to Greg and Ron for keeping us feed every night! Lets see, I recall having wonderful baked chicken, grilled veggies and potatoes one night, pork tenderloin, pork ribs and BQ chicken another. That on top of the BEST Frosty Margaritas from Jim M and you have the perfect combination after a whole day of flying back to back sorties. Ron, thanks for always making sure I had a fresh cigar in my mouth! You da bomb bud!

Besides the great flying facilities the airspace is fantastic. Clear skies with little or no trees or obstacles to deal with. Wide open spaces for great flying! The club members were awesome to. We met a lot of new friends. Everyone was super friendly. There was pretty much a party every night and everyone was invited. Great times!

Thank you Joe, Chris and David for helping me bind my new UB. Thanks also to all of my tent mates for always helping me out and helping me keep an eye out for MYSELF lol! (man, I really don't deserve such good friends), but that being said, Thanks Dan A, Chris B, Dave C, Goose, Jim M and Jim B. Jim B, it was really a pleasure to get to know you better bud. Thank you for all of your help in getting that turbine running. We actually disassembled a turbine in the field to fix it and then put it back together and I'll be damned if the thing actually started on the first try!

I know all of the girls in our group had a really good time visiting. I barely even saw my wife the whole time lol!

All in all this was one of the best events we have been to this year. I would like to extend a special thanks to Tim R for always being there to help. His contagious laughs and good humor. Thanks buddy for inviting me to your wonderful event.

Andy
