The Legendary F-104 "OLYMPOS" of Hellenic Air Force
..or like saying SkyMaster 1/5 F-104
As much hollywood or anyone else will try there are only two things on this world that carry the name Olympos.
Olympos for those you don't know is the name of the highest mountain of Greece and in Ancient Greek Mythology the home of the Twelve Olympian Gods.
A legendary name with a 3000+ years of history and age (900B.C.) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Olympus
Now the second Olympos is the famous Greek F-104 Olympos of H.A.F. created in early 1990 when this birds retired.
The painting consist a hawk flying over Olympos mountain and also a very special mark on each of the intake. The Vergina Star.
The Vergina Star is a mark that is been seen in 400B.C. sculptures in Athenas temple in Greece ,in sculptures of Hercules from 500B.C. in many archaeological findings.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vergina_Sun
FYI the Vergina Star is been used (abused ) from the country named SKOPIA know today as " fyROM "
in there try to claim land of Greece .
When the protest of Greece and Cyprus for SKOPIA to remove the Vergina Star from the flag didn't work,
an archaeological finding at the land they where try to claim ,made them remove it.
A Golden Case with the Vergina Star on it comes to light from 400B.C. in the tomb of Kind Philip ,
father of Alexander The Great ,undefeated Greek commander of the known military campaign around the known world back then.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_the_Great
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larnax
…so the F-104 Olympos could not miss the Star of Vergina on him.

Hi George...
...you did it again ...an excellent project for you and all those 'jet junkies' here in Greece...those anniversary HAF (Hellenic Air Force) jet fighter planes look awesome... I think that an F104 'Tiger' should be standing next to the 'Olympos'... so you might think of that as your next project... thank you for your continious support...
Best regards,
Nick

And the second Olympos is back to its owner ready for the maiden !
To avoid a tail heavy result that i had in mine,
i fitted the PowerBox Royal ,the airpower electro valve ,the P/B screen and the two PB batteries all in the nose cone
Also modified the air brake cylinders to rear position for easier assembly

It came to my attention a building detail that maybe other owners would like to know , regarding the elevator setup.
The manual show a metal link to be used on the elevator servo as you can see in the photo attached.
This is NOT a ball link. Its a metal link with ball bearing.
That means it provides free movement only in one axis .But this axis in not parallel with the elevator movement axis (1) as seen in the draw.
So when elevator moves , the link moves towards direction (2) stressing it at point (3).
You can just turn 90degrees and mount the servo so the ball bearing to work with the elevator direction .
I just used a "Dubro Monster Ball Link" to allow freedom to this direction.
