in many setups like jetliners the real thrust is produced by the tupbofan that the jet engine drives, not the jet engine itself. So, lets not call them jets than
There are turbojets (pure jets, like a 707 or early Lear 23/24) and turbofans, also called fanjets, where the large front fan is driven by a jet engine. The more efficient of these are high-bypass turbofans.
Potato, po-tah-to...,

Calling a ducted fan a jet is at least misleading. Like calling a turboprop (a jet engine with a gearbox driving a prop) a jetprop. Meh...,

At least the device is orange. Helps locating pieces in the debris field.

The vane control system reminds me of the Vertigo VTOL plan published years ago.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCJ70Fr1umA

You have the fan bit, all it needs now is the 'aeroplane' part.

And the turbine. And an 18 channel radio. And high voltage digital servos.
And a powerbox. And retracts with a failsafe system. And a $20,000 price tag.

While you are at it have it poorly made in China by some ruthless, clueless fools.

Only then will people talk about it in the jets forum.

John.

Hey I "AM" trying to relocate. However, the web page is not letting me to close this thread.

I will not get in to any more discussions on this location. Thank you all for the feedback!

That'd be great if someone gave me a tip on closing threads...
