(2) Jet Central Dual Action Valves for Gear and doors
(1) Jet Central Single Action valves for brakes (Kit comes with servo actuated valves if you want to go that route)
Jet Central Door Sequencer

Fuel Tanks supplied with prototype amounted to 3.5L I added an extra 1 L tank, I believe that FB has changed the tanks that will be supplied in the production kits to increase the volume.

Gear doors came installed, main doors were not closing in flight, I think bigger cylinders are needed, or just remove them....its a sport jet!

The LG is up to the task, very beefy.

Large wheels and brakes, a good grass field should not be a problem.

Price... very, very competitive for a jet this size!
I know price, ask me

The plane is big. I fly a Tuono and the Dolphin next to my Tuono is overall bigger. I was very impressed by the overall paint finish and fit of components, and the quality of the construction is top notch in my opinion. This jet will impress many when they see it and if you get a chance to fly one, don't pass it up. It is fun to fly. During the maiden and followup flight, Jim Hiller looked like he was having fun. So when before the third flight was started, Lewis patton and myself were offered a chance for some stick time. My time was limited, but right away I could sense how smooth the plane felt on the controls, and responsive was a pure joy. Point rolls and slow rolls took very little effort. I was smiling the whole time, and Lewis Patton before me basicly had the same type of comments.
I think many will be surprised by this Fei Bao offering.

Thank You for allowing me the chance at the sticks. I enjoyed it very much.
Joe, your welcome!
It was great to see three old school competition pattern fliers put the Dolphin through it's paces

Here are some shots of Dolphin next to Joe's Tuono for a size reference, as Joe mentioned the Dolphin is overall a little bigger.

You'll be good. I plan to maiden my 1/6 F-16 there this Saturday. It's a large flying area plus 2700' of runway.

38.47# bone dry. Weighed with my Xicoy balancer but balanced with the hi tech balance gizmo included with the kit. A piece of ply with holes to attach it to wing tube and anti rotation pins. A hole for an old fashioned string to lift it. Now since that is done I will put all the numbers in my balancer and compare the two.

Rich...please confirm the 11.4 from the leading edge is still good. Thanks

Tom
That is where the calculator says 28% MAC is...

I will be curious to see how this compares with the Xicoy CG balancer

The Xicoy unit can't be compared to the MAC calculator, only to the balancing jig using the string. If the numbers match the hole for the string the balance point should be the same.

Great scheme. I hope to get mine test flown next weekend. It's all ready and really fills my trailer up....kinda like golf....requires some body english to get it in. It is a monster. What motor are you using? Havent tried to compare balance with the Xicoy and the ply jig. Need to let the info bounce around. The trailing link gear issue. I think that the balance point will be the same as the weight actually is seen by the strut not where the wheel sits.

K210 for power for now but will probably end up with a 180 in it.
For the CG machine the trailing link struts only make a difference if you measure the distance from the mains to CG with no weight on the wheels. With weight the wheels move back slightly. If you measure with the weight on the wheels then that distance is taken into account.

Successful maiden today. Was a littlentailnheavybfor my taste at the recommended cg. Added 4oz to the nose and reduced the elevator throws to the low rate. No real surprises and will try no. 2 tomorrow wx permitting. Full up wt with full fuel 48.5#. Rhino powered and it worked just fine.

Weight and reducing throws made it a different jet. Tons of power with Rhino. I still need to get more aggressive slowing it down to land, but it lands quite well. Its a winner!

Mark / Tom
I came up with a internal flap linkage for the Dolphin S and also installed it on my big Dolphin, I will post photos in my build thread

Tom
did you hang the Dolphin on the CG rig to see where it is at after adding the addition nose weight?
Also you said you reduced your throws, can you post your measurements?

It is surprising you needed to reduce the throws, as my settings were set up to Jim Hiller's preferences , and he likes tame throws, I like them a bit more aggressive.

any pics of this jet o yours flying sitting still ect? the one im working on weights 54lbs if it weights a oz full of fuel, plus id add a bigger battery rather than add actual lead weight I thought id toss that idea in because dead weights dead weight and a larger batter isn't and is good insurance, if u want to play around with the cg then add a fuel tank a blow molded one for say glow fuel then add water or subtract the water till u like what the cg does for u then remove the fuel tank water and all and weight it, use a Velcro straps to restrain your water/cg tank and once its weighted go get yon self a massive battery to take the place o the water tank/cg tank and use the battery/batterys for balance, just a suggestion but maybe it helps someone out there?

I balanced it with the ply templets and hung it. I actually had to move batteries rearwards at first to get it to balance. The initial test flight it hunted just a bit in pitch and was very sensitive on elevator, roll rate was a tad slow. I added 4 1/2 oz lead to the nose just in front of the wheel opening, reduced the throw to the low rate elevator and it made a world of difference. I have it on 50% expo on the elevator. Later flights it was spot on for my style of flying, the pitch was very responsive without being "pitchy" and the roll was much improved after a 15% increase in aileron travel. I increased the flap throw 3" to help slow it down but it is still a little fast for my home field. I plan on adding some more flap travel and possiblly some crow. Stops quickly after landing but it currently floats too far. I need to fly a flatter approach to help and improve the flap/elevator trim to avoid any nose down pitch to keep speed steady. Its a beast of a jet and will be a lot of fun after I get the last trim flights complete. 38.47# dry before I added nose weight. Next time I put it together I will try to get the new cg numbers, but I would guess I moved it forward .5 - .75" forward. Eric Clapp is the man to speak with if you are interested in one of these (large or small version). His service is great and I am keeping him informed of all CG/throw numbers to improve his knowledge base of this new jet and help new Dolphin flyers.
