So im looking for a sweet fast jet for either my p80 or p120 off of grass
If you are afortunate on putting some 1000 or 2000 flights with a bandit, you will see how cheap is to fly with this airplanes.. :-) biggest problem is just the initial purchase cost.

I had both the flash and the bandit, in my opinion the flash is better. I loved the bandit but couldn't see how it was worth the extra.
your right though once you consider spreading the cost over multiple flights it becomes less of an issue but if your budget conscious I think the UF is the way forward.
The k140 is a true 31lb turbine so you will easily get 250 plus, just keep in mind that its not a german "31lbs" so don't expect quite so much from a german powered unit.

In terms of speed, a flash will go well over 200mph, and do it safely as well. Just don't do it in the good ole US of A, *wink *wink. Your turbine waiver says you won't do it, on purpose *cough.
With a 120N turbine you'll need to do a couple of laps wide open, and by lap 2, it'll be ripping by you.
Next, do a loop, and keep the throttle on full throttle as you go down. A Flash is built like a tank. It will take it ALL. Day. Long.
For precision though, the nod goes to the bandit. And bandits are HELLA fast. Bandits are my speed choice. I absolutely love 'em.
Edit: I used to think I was hot $#!T with my Bandito with a titan (160N) SE for years, and I was. Then I ran into Afterburner1 and his UFlash with a P-140RX. It was like my bandit wasn't even on. No joke. It was a rocket. Darnit.

Have you looked at a modelbau tornado? Now before you give me grief about the kit....I have one flying on a JetCat P-100, and it's topping out around 200......it really does fly well, and is the best short grass field jet I have.

As per the a previous post, the chequer scheme UF's are on sale:
http://www.carf-models.com/public_ca...ant&proId=3342
This is a damn good price and will likely sell out the inventory quickly. If you're stuck for cash u can always order the gear later.
This is a fast, TOUGH, airframe. Will take a big block, (lots including myself have done it) and is FUN to fly.
As many have said a P120 will move it along nicely....

Ignorant arrogant post.
Mike, if you are talking 3000 for airframe and gear there are options, especially with a p120 but you'll likely need to look at the used market.
There recently have been a few cai raptors in that range, we'll over 200mph with a p120. A CARF rookie or even kangaroo will do 200 with a 120. I've seen bobcat xl's in that price range that will do 200 even with the p80. A hotspot with a 120, if you can find an aviation design exocet or starjet you'll get well over 200 with a p80. Even a bvm kingcat with a 120 will do over 200 and I have seen kingcats gonfor under 3k, I sold a very nice one for 2500 a few years back.

I've seen many older kingcats go for under 3k for airframe less turbine. Like I say, I sold mine for $2500, airframe with gear, all servos, powerbox, jetronic gear and brake valves, custom paint, no crashes etc. That was after not being able to sell it at 3500, then 3000. What you see them listed for vs what they sell for are very different things.
I've seen them break 200 on radar with p120's as well.

I think she did over 200mph with a P-100 (22lb thrust), & here is a video of a P160SX doing 298mph with a P-160;

Thanks guys for all the good info. I only started turbines at the end of last year. So far I got a falcon 120, and Byron F16 with AMT 180s my Carf Eurosport with KT 140, and got a nice p80 a nd p120 sitting on the shelf. So while getting 3k at one time is a little harder I am able to save to get what I want
But I run into this mentality a lot as I got the my waver with a Delt Dart 106 with AMT 180 and there were guys given me grief as I had to bring my air compressor, propane and start box. But when I got 2 AMT180 for $450 each I was spending less than edf setups
I like the Flash. I really like the Swiss skeem.
I had a buddy who was going to give me his Rookie 2 all but the fuse for $300 but it looks like Carf is getting rid of the Rookie as there all out of stock
So I read the hotspot is fast and the rookie 2 is a modern hotspot are just as fast?

Good advice here re: speed
However, if i were you, i would make sure I like how the plane flies more than its top speed. Speed is fun but gets old quickly. But a good flying, fun to fly, precise plane never gets old. Flashes and bandits are awesome (obviously, i prefer the bandit ), so are Kingcats and bobcats. But don't buy something fast just cause its cheap and then end up with something that after the 20th high speed pass you are bored with. Speed gets old, but aerobatics never do.

Ultra flash is the best sport jet I have ever flown. Its fast, but even better yet it's nimble with the strength of a tank. Besides the BVM Bobcat, no other jet will take Gs like an UF day after day and keep going
