The Making of Xtreme ARF F100 D Super Sabre

Obviously the factory took some time trying to rip off this personalized custom, fictitious scheme from Ali & Trond that never was on any real F-100 - but I must admit this it does look good in this scheme.

You are right on, this is not a real color scheme, if it was a rip off then blame on me because I do the research for them, it was an order from customers. They do whatever color scheme that the customers wants.

I understand you do what a customer wants and it is a great scheme. Just a little sad that what was personal and unique is now mass produced. Same thing happens with other companies, I've ordered a custom scheme or color swap to make it special and a few months later it's a standard scheme available to everyone. Still interested in your F100, but waiting to see how it holds up after a few more are out flying and have numerous flights.

Hi Billy D / Hui Ye
I, like many others am very interested in this kit. I respect the design philosophy and the construction looks good, but I will only purchase one once the prototype has 50 plus flights on it. We need to see more flying video, we need to see high speed passes with aggressive pull ups, if the the prototype can survive 50 flights of this abuse then the average guy flying normally should get many years and hundreds of flights.
Perhaps after 50 flights you can open up the stab to see if there are any cracks or wear and tear.
You could even mould just a tail section and strap it to the roof of a car and drive around cycling the stab up and down trying to induce flutter or failure. This type of testing to destruction can be inexpensive and should be done by the manufacturer not the first couple of clients.
I am eagerly waiting to see some testing done, you would instil a huge amount of confidence in your product and I am sure you would increase your customer base significantly.
Regards
Neil

Neil, talking to Billy today he informed that they flew again yesterday and he has a video that has to be edited he will send the video to me this Sunday I will edit and I will post soon it is ready. This weekend they will fly a lot with the F100, Jim Hiller will be at the seat pilot and he pushes harder on the airframes, you should see Billy's Viper video here on the viper thread at http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-j...billy-d-2.html it is the second video, according Billy this jet has more than 50 flights on it and I am sure he will do the same with the F100

Got to see a sample of the material used for the formers in these models. Have to say it was one of the toughest materials I've come across in a model. There is no way this material would give way or even crush when bolted through. Clever stuff. A composites specialist there said it's the same stuff they use in full size helicopters.
Still agree though, video and proof of some hard flying will get the order books filling up.....

The video's will come through, I'm sure the results will be nothing but good, the materials used in these jets is top class and the new Vixen and following scale F84 and A6 will both benefit from all the testing and research Xtreme are doing. They are currently doing Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS) and solidworks simulation for air flow, pressure
plots, wings static load and structural simulations based on the materials that they are using in the construction process on the Vixen.

Thought a quick update on Xtreme's ongoing development processes which I feel show the companies overall commitment to producing RC aircraft which are properly developed, structurally thought through, great to fly and above all as safe.
The Vixen drawings were sent to an aerospace engineer to test in Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS) and solidworks simulation for air flow, pressure plots, wings static load and structural loading to evaluate the overall design and the materials that will be used in manufacture are fully capable of delivering the results needed for a safe and structurally sound aircraft.
Here are a few data images of the first batch of results received late last week, more are posted on the Vixen RCU thread - http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-j...ming-soon.html

Oh my why can't you guys offer some models I want to own?? I am not into the older jets such as the F-100 but by far and away you guys simply have the best paint crew I have ever seen... I wonder if Skymaster would let me buy an F-18 from them and have it shipped to you guys for painting... Their paint jobs don't even come close to what I'm seeing here.
F-18C
F-16
F-15
For the love of god I know they may be "been there done that" but pretty please??

We came on scene to be innovative with new technology, materials and process and not copy nobody else work, but our commitment with customers is to produce any color scheme they chose, we don't have any own color scheme to mass produce we follow our customers orders, and we don't suggest to our customers to pick this or the other scheme.
We apologize if this has offended somebody it was not our intention and mainly Ali, we know his reputation precedes him, and his work on this scheme is pristine.
Scott as you say it is a unique color scheme and it will be because it is still the original one and any reproduction won't take out its value.
