Hi Jay
It's because they are such a heavy airframe. I bought my second hand so mine has flown on a Kingtech K210 it flew but with no ordinance it look like over size trainer plane. So my airframe weight is 23kgs without turbine but before I bought it I asked the owner the wight he told me in black and white that it weighed 23kgs dry and he had smoke as well. So you are going to need a one of the new Kingtech K250 or K300 but that's my opinion on this aircraft but Hun are a awesome jet.

HI ,I guess Damo was concerned when I wrote " the plane fly's OK" just to reiterate the plane fly's very well, great ,perfect nothing wrong with the way it fly's. My concern is the weight as it sits on the landing gear while taxing and landing.
I stated and will also state the the things I left out, the extras that I added to this build which increased weight were , Detail 4 Scale tail cone ,after burner ring,Custom upper bypass cover, pilot, lights ,parachute.also purchased the upgraded pitot tube and cockpit, servos used were all JR 8911 . including the main , nose doors, steering, canopy open, and two micro servos for the latch on the canopy, I don't believe that they were 16 pounds extra weight compared to a 50 lb total weight on what I would say plane Jane build .. I will not argue the point since I have not weighed the extra components I added
We believe the airplane looks spectacular.
I did not weigh the plane before the build and would be very curious to know what the un-built kit as received from factory weighs with all the ordnance ,gear, fuel tanks and cockpit weigh?????
Reference the gear we found that the sets screws were not sufficient to hold the gear from rotating and we pinned them across.the shaft. we are now trying to figure out how to secure the nose gear scissors because it is also rotating .
Again I would like to ask for the total kit weight with out servos, electrical extensions,UAT, turbine, and pilot?????
I understand all the issues that may arise from flying on a grass field ,but I also think my plane is heavy for even a paved runway.
My current fleet consist of :
Comp Arf-Skygate Hawk
Skymaster 1/5 Scale
Tomahawk L-39
ShockWave
Airworld F-104

and I have not encountered any issues flying on grass yet.

Once again This is a very beautiful plane with great flying characteristics,

Thanks,

J.C.

Hi J.C.

The only concern I had was the weight of it the turbine I was planning on using went out the window because he told it was 23kgs with turbine. The plan was to use a Jet Munt 200xbl. So I know the Jets Munt is lighter than the Kingtech K210 and I replace the radio trays with lighter one's. But personally I think it just a heavy plane. I'll get it flying soon.

Damo
You are right, you can fly from grass but what I meant was that the vibration that imposes on the structure is big and it's my belief that you reduce the life of your airframe in such conditions.

Flew the F-100 at Super Jets South last week, and it flew awesome! The Jet Central Mammoth allows for big loops, and extended verticals. I usually fly 1/2 to 2/3 power until vertical. Haven't flown from grass, and probably will not.

I wish I could do more, but life is in the way and I am going to be moving soon. Once I get settled in im planning to start my own 3D printing and 3D scanning so I might be able to help more with future stuff.

This is Lewis "the geenral" Patton with Xtreme ARF F100 that made the best scale jet at Fall Jet Classic 2016, I don't have the award picture yet but have the video:

The airframe can handle it just upgrade the tail pipe. Haven't flown mine yet but I'll be ordering a new pipe that can handle a K-310 a little mod at the back end and it will fit no problem's. I'm going to start back on mine soon and get it ready for next jet events

Thanks guys, who sells the 310 sized pipe? I may go with a K-260, save some weight, & utilize the 60lbs of thrust with my existing pipe. Here's mine, it looks unbelievable in person. Excellent weathering as well. Billy D, if you see this post, I sent an email about buying the drop tanks & upgrade parts.

Just FYI, Tam has gotten away from the hobby business, I think he still makes pipe to order but apparently is hard to talk to these days.
