It was mentioned in another thread. I do not have any first hand knowledge on it. I've owned 2 ultra flashes with 160sx engines. Ryan H, furloughedual had one with a p-180rx.

You'd be surprised, I have a 100 powered Classic Flash that is not that much slower than my buddies, who are running 140's and 160's. People are always surprised that it "only" has a 100 in it. You don't get that much more speed with a bigger engine, it does accelerate faster though. It's no different than cars or bikes. It always takes a huge increase in HP to get very small gains in speed. You won't need to beef it up with a 160

I found my P-100RX powered Ultra to be absolutely fine once on step, but lacked to TO/GA authority of my P120 powered Sprint. I sold my P100 & swapped it for a K180G, not for more speed, but mainly just to have a powerhouse in the fleet to power bigger things if needed. Have not flown it with the 180 yet though

I've got a Merlin 100 in my Swiss Ultra and a lot of people commented at the weekend how surprised they were that it was only a 100, flying both back to back, I do prefer the vertical of the 140 but I find I can still get an 8 minute flight even on the 100, I much prefer the lighter feel on the sticks and the sloooooooow aero's probably around ....... 100mph 8 points and knife edge will sound boring to the average 300mph UF pilot, but it does it so well, and I couldn't afford another 140

I have TITAN SE in mine. I would recommend installing the full bypass if you really want to get max speed. I also recommend setting up some minimal crow for landing, (4-5mm) up aileron with up elevator on full flaps. It eliminated ballooning/bouncing on landings on mine. I second Rafi's suggestion, if youre going for full blown sprints, lower your time to around 5minutes flying so you will have a minute or two to land (6min total).
good luck

I also have a Titan SE in mine. I also use crow for landing. I am running the wing and main tank for fuel. I have the saddle tanks for smoke. No bypass and mine is fast as we'll. My good buddy runs a p140rx and his is wicked fast with the bypass and can Cruz from a hill climb well over a lap at idle.
The airframe has over 250+ flight and is still rock solid. And I am the second owner, and the first owner was not ***** footing it around either. The best jet I have ever flown. Just put it this way. The UF was and is my first turbine plane. Got my waiver with it.
