Default UP@ & Tam FAil Safe unit

Does anyone know if you can use Tams fail safe unit with a UP2 valve? I assume it is not a problem but just curious if anyone is actually using this combo before I order one...Thanks, Gary

Not if the sequencing is in the transmitter programming...

The UP2 essentially does the sequencing for the gear and doors as I understand it...is that correct? There should be no need for a separate sequencer (such as a jetronic sequencer) or any sequencing done in the transmitter.

I only need one small servo to operate the up2 and that is it, correct?

Yes Gary, thats correct, on your setup it works. 1 servo, 1 sequencing valve
However the Tam's only has one connect for servo, so with multiple servo's it does not work unless the sequencer is in the plane

I suppose you could use a Y cable unless you need different doors to do different things as is required for some jets with some doors remaining open and some closing. Maybe this is what you are referring to?

Anyway, thanks for the help. I have always used the Jetronic valves and sequencers but the pricing for these has continued going up over the years so I thought I would try the UP2. This and a small servo is less than half the cost of electronic valves and a sequencer.

I have a UP3 but unfortunately it leaves the doors open on landing which I don't want.
