Hi Mich, looks great!
Please don't forget to check weight...
We reweigh our bird with full UAT (250 mg) - 18300 except kabin and pilots.
Hope to do a maiden at Tuesday (very windy now).
I have a question- why do you use external door sequencer, the Royal has own inner sequencer?
Do you use air failsave sensor?
Good luck with maiden!!!
Kind regards,
Sergey

Yes Royal does have a gear/door sequencer https://www.powerbox-systems.com/pro...royal-srs.html
I guess Michael installed the JetTronic before we decide to go with the Royal…with only 20gr weight it doesn't make a deference anyway...
Looking forward for Michaels maiden too
Good luck to both of you guys !

Hi friends,
Yesterday we did maiden. Very beautiful bird- looks great, flying great, very stable like on a rails.
Take off weight 20100 (except pilots and cocpit).
Very good performance with K-60TP, very scale flight.
It was done two flights, first one for fine tune, just two clicks on aileron to the right and tree clicks elevator up. I think 175mm CG is a bet forward, will check it again after cocpit and pilots installation.
And of course a short video (sorry it was shoot by iPad and I missed touch down moment.
Later on I will download the video of the second flight with aerobatics maneuvers

Kind regards,
Serdey.

No, we used PowerBox Cocpit (without internal iGyro) and no external Gyro at all.
She is very, really very stable, also during aerobatics- "knife", rol, loop, belly up flight....
Also during takeoff and rollout she is very stable.
Kind regards,
Sergey

Last flying season I used a Solo Prop 3 bladed 22x22 prop. This prop ran at the recommended rpms and the paint on my hatch bubbled on the maiden. As David pointed out, in post #136 I solved the problem.
A couple of weekends ago I tested the Biela 5 bladed 23x14 prop and it also ran at the recommended rpms. I like the vertical the prop provides.
The first video below the 5 bladed Beila prop. I had a dead stick at the end of the flight (the mpx plug on the turbine came unplugged during the flight).
The second video shows the 3 bladed Solo Prop.

Thanks Kirk.
On the first video you landed out of runway, what happened, flameout? What is reason of that?
OK, clear, mpx unplaged.
Nice field and nice bird.
Kind regards,
Sergey

[QUOTE=helifox;12214854]We used SM 5 blades propeller and did glue some noise reduction material (for car sound installation) with aluminum foil on one site and everything OK.
Kind regards,
Sergey
Hi Sergey did you open up any of the holes or around the exhaust for better cooling?
congratulations on your maiden.

I am using bvm heat shield, and the heat blanket without any issues until i switched to the skymaster 5 blade prop that's when I noticed the paint bubbling up. My main concern is if the engine is running to hot with that setup, I am not even running the spinner if that makes any difference for cooling.

I previously ran a Fiala 24x17 three-blade prop with good results. Most recently, I have installed a SEP 24x18 three-blade prop and tach the prop to 5100 rpm. Plane has not been flown with this prop, or any other propeller since the engine was repaired, but I believe the performance with the 24x18 will be more than acceptable. Both propellers were purchased from Vogelsang.
I have also tried the Biela 24x22 three-blade prop, but was unable to reach rpm much above 3000. Though I suspect issues with the tachometer used, it did seemed that at full throttle the plane did not produce much thrust. Had similar results with the SEP 24x22 three-blade propeller.
Good luck with your search.
