It all depends on your flying field in my opinion.

I just did the maiden for a friend and we used crow. Landed like a dream. I dont know why you would not use it

Some very knowlegable people (Dave Wilshire, for one) swear by NO CROW. My UF is downright dangerous at full flaps without it. So, you can expect to get solid opinions on both sides.

Does the UF suffer from elevator blanking and ballooning with large flap deflections like the classic?

No. That's the biggest change between the two.

Crow makes little practical difference with the UF.

Ali uses 4-6mm as per his multiple post on the UF thread. OP check post 1981 on pg 80 of the UF thread, a video says a thousand words. It shows the tip-stall that a few folks talk about. Oh yeah, +1 with crow. It makes for a mechanical washout which keeps your tips at a lower angle of attack than your wing root which should combat any tip-stall tendencies during the landing (crow) phase of flight.

I've flown with and without crow and I can get the UF to walking speed in both cases. Maybe there is a difference, but I haven't seen it. The classic Flash is a different animal and really benefits from crow since the flaps blanket the elevator when fully deployed.

While I did try it on my maiden, when i used it the plane basically stopped in the air, so I did not try it again, yet have found no need to use it since every landing has been almost perfect and frankly with no signs of abrupt stall, so far I feel the trick is on the CG

Strong statement with little proof , is the plane dangerous with full flaps or is it you and your flying skills
