More tips.....double the length of the stab control arms, makes better use of the servo power and helps reduce free-play. CG at 140 to 145 is very close to the money. Move the nose retract down as far as you can to increase the angle of attack, that with lots of flap helps rotation.

Nice avatar dude!

My C model is a brick at around 15kg. It is the original sm model and very heavily framed. It flies fine on a jetcat 120. 140 is the ideal engine like the gopher said.

Doing a overhaul on mine... after a flameout in a inverted flyby. This plane doesnt glide very well.

This time I will remove the yaw and roll gyro dampening and go full three axis, shifting the cg to the rear.. lets see whats happens!

I'm using JR 3421's on ailerons and rudders and one on my brake valve. Then JR 8711's on my flaps, elevators and steering.

I used some aluminum brackets to mount the aileron servo's to the top wing sheeting, enforcing it with 1/32" ply. I made my own shorter aileron control horn out of PC board. With the fairing it looks really clean, I used some really tiny screws to hold the hatch on, not much else is really needed. I used 1/16" ply for a hatch on the rudder and mounted the servo as in the wing but to the hatch cover.

No problem, I'm not sure what hardware came with mine, I believe the brackets are Jet Legend though. I have a pretty good selection of spare parts, so I just use whatever I have on hand. I'll give you the specifics on the servo arms when I get back out in the shop, I buy the aftermarket ones that come on a tree and just pick the one that fits the length needed.

Maidened mine on saturday, very happy with the flight. Flame out after take off on the second flight ended in a very heavy landing and ripped out the main gear, repairable but still pi$$ed off.

Merlin 160, nothing obvious, no air in the fuel lines, ecu battery ok, fault said 'speed low'. The engine ran fine in the previous plane, I'll look at it during the week but I feel it wont fault again.

3mm has always worked for me.

Remember there ARE differences between the C and the F and the E (F and E are super hornets) variants.
