Sluggo, it's me and a friends ranks when we served together in the Aussie Navy. I don't care to increase my rank to that of a junior officer to be more scale

Muzz, I agree, the quality of the plane is let down by the paintjob... they should pay more attention to the little details...
there are quite a lot of differences between the real plane, and the model....mine, #146, should normally have the toned down markings, yet my model came with red markings.......the ventral fins are grey instead of black, as are the external tanks........the red edges on the doors are amateur work at best........
So indeed, they could do a better job there.....

Hi guys, The undercarriage front and back is a beautiful piece of work. Likai should be rightly proud of this creation imo. I am very happy with what has arrived and have begun to put flying surfaces together. The wing and elevon bag is very well made and is a step up from what I have normally received from SM or Carf. I started using that immediately to safe guard the wings etc.
As you said Wim, the paintwork is a little down on quality in small ways here and there, with overspray throughout the interior of the engine bays on mine. I planned to paint it inside anyway, so that doesn't matter to me and probably wouldn't be that noticeable once the aircraft is fitted out with engines etc, if it wasn't painted over.
I did like the addition of the canopy sequencer valve, even though my canopy strut is seized. I have changed that for another already, to solve that little issue. Couldn't get that canopy open for some time, to my frustration. Couldn't wait to see it work up and down/locked. I will say that the air lines have been mounted very well in this aircraft, with lots of plastic clips here and there to make it all flow along the fuselage nicely. I am changing the airlines out for dreamworks airline, which I prefer.
I will have to remove the fuel tanks down the track to replace the rubber stoppers with the updated fittings. I am also keen to check the tanks for FOD and pressure test them outside the aircraft. Easier to sort out any issues on the workbench that way I think.

Progress.......
well, managed to get some more work done on the "Turkey"......
while waiting for stuff to get in, I continued work on the wings. I got me soms smaller Savox servo's for the slats, installed those, then the flap servo, freed up the spoilers, and got that servo in as well.
I managed to get the correct throws on the slat servo's, I like to get everything as mechanically correct as possible, before starting to program stuff in the transmitter... took me quite some time to figure it out, but now they retract and extend without binding, and to the correct amount.

so, first at work at the pneumatics....I started replacing all the airlines starting with the main gear and doors... second pic also shows the relocated attach point for the large wheel door, this way it opens all the way. The original attach point is a bit too high, and the door only opens to about 80°... enough to clear the wheel, but it doesn't look right... also shows where I mounted the large Robart air bottles (on top of the inlet)

We had a baby shower for the arrival of the F14 down here in Australia. Most were impressed with the presence of the F14 and the tough look she has gunned up. And we drank lots of beer, so that can't be bad either

I think you're gonna be very happy Wim with the Savox servos. I've been using them on my 700 size helis for years now and not one single failure/problem with any of them.
