Ok:
I have been searching the interweb and here is what I have found. Pilot Dude. There is a CO2 laser available on ebay right now, brand new for 500 bucks. Yep it is a 40 watt laser, but big enough to get you going. Then when you make a kit or two you can start saving for that bigger laser, in other words baby steps. Yes it will take longer but you would be making wood. Or here's a thought buy a couple of those and double up on your production.

I suppose you will have an excuse for not buying those as well. Always something with you.

So, I went into the office and got the keys, and as I said I already had permission from the Flight Instructor to rent the airplane at 1 PM.

And apparently you are the only one who thought about jumping out of the plane over the mountains. But thats the FAA's Fault

Hopefully you have grown more skilled......
Mr. Woketman, the wing skins were fiberglass, with a smooth surface, and were made from molds made off of a wing plug that used NACA airfoils and were perfectly smooth without any ripples, and a perfect transition from the root airfoil to the NACA 64212 tip airfoil with a small amount of wingtip washout, and the flap curvature on the wing itself was a perfectly smooth contour to use "fowler" flaps, where when the flap was deployed there would be a small amount of airflow from under the wing to over the top of the flap to prevent flap stall. If it was crap, then why did you start the turbine installation, which looked like a fifth grader did the mount to mount the turbine? It looked to me when I got it back that you and whoever else was involved simply decided that you didn't have time to devote to it, and I remember either you or the other person saying you had some other things to do so didn't have time to devote to it, family or job matters. The same structure flew perfectly well with an OS BGX pusher prop, even though it was a bit tail heavy. That's why I changed the design to the inverted "V" tail of the StarJet.

The structure was crap, especially the wings. Don't tell us how great it was aerodynamically. None of that matters if the wings flutter and fly apart at 100 mph! And you sir lie! Richard did quite a good job of building a turbine mount for that thing. I recently saw the photos of it that we took. He really did great concerning what he had to start with. I recommended at the time that he end efforts on it due to the flutter ready wings!

Ok, if that were true then why didn't you hotwire a new set of wings and do the new wings completely on your own? Just solid pink or blue foam with a strong enough internal structure and mounting? I'm sure you should have been able to come up with something on your own.

You still could have done your own wings by hotwiring pink or blue Styrofoam and put in a strong structure then covered them with 1/64 ply or balsa and fiberglass cloth and resin to your own satisfaction. But, that is all in the past. The "StarJet" kit will amaze you.

.
The airframe in the last picture is really nice and looks like a nice subject to build, not really sure about the first two though - looks like a disaster just about to happen.

That's why I made molds of the fuse--thought at a later date a turbine model might rise from the ashes
