Jma throckmorton - october 11 & 12
The JMA will be holding a jet meeting at Throckmorton airfield over the weekend of October 11 & 12. This is a new venue for the JMA and we hope it will be the first of many at this site, this will also be the last JMA event of 2014. Situated in Worcestershire, Throckmorton was originally RAF Pershore and was used as a dispersal airfield for V-bombers as part of the UK nuclear deterrent. It then became QinetiQ Pershore and the Throckmorton airfield. It is still owned by QinetiQ and is now available for commercial use after many years as a research and development site. For the last couple of years it has played host to the 'Help for heroes' airshow and there are several videos on Youtube and forum threads regarding this event. The post code for the airfield is WR10 2JH.
If you wish to attend this event, Please book in with Roger Kilbey in the usual manner. The standard fee structure applies and the start date for the increased fee structure is from MIDNIGHT on FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 26th. Camping is available if required but please get in touch with Roger Kilbey or Jamie Cuff and let them know you are camping so access can be arranged. If you are camping, please remember that there is to be NO FLYING prior to the pilots briefing on Saturday morning.

Looking forward to this one, pretty part of the country near Worcester. Evesham will be the nearest big town, will start to track down accommodation when I'm back from Scotland, it's just too far for my double drive!

Great first day at this new venue, few showers, but still endless flying. Was good to get some of the old guard out. Enjoyed my first flight this year with my CARF Hawk.
more tomorrow

Another great JMA weekend, been a good season throughout. A massive thank you has to go out to the workers who make these events happen. Roger, Jamie, Dick and Little Stevie all work hard behind the scenes, so we can play.
I catching up with family stuff and the GP and I'll look at my pixs

Didn't get that many good shots, the sun was in the wrong place for good light, a few showers yesterday and fog early on today left a hazy sky. Dominant manufacturer all weekend was CARF, Jamie was ecstatic that there were so many Ultra Flashes, that and Xcalibur's, the pits were full of his favourite machines ;-)
Very few incidences, lots of flying the flight line was busy both days, but these JMA events allow plenty of flying with three in the air normal, four occasionally to reduce queuing time.
The airfield covered our needs well, without the machinery and traffic cones, the far views of the Malvern Hills would have made it a beautiful site!
Was great to see some old friends again, my Classic Lightning built in 2005 is back in the M&R camp with Timmy J, totally original equipment was still perfect after 9 years! That and one of my original Hotspot airframes also around 10 years old and still going strong, it was like a family reunion!
Enough light snacks and good company, it was a great weekend. I took my CARF Hawk for an airing and DJ Cougar that thrives in calmer conditions, DJ Vampire, Xcalibur and GJC Mig 15

Great shots, your camera copes really well with the poor light.
Really must put the leg doors back on the Cougar and keep the clumsy ginger away from it with his big feet...

I've got some free time this week and have just bought a new hammer. I'll come and sort it out for you I don't have big feet - you just parked your plane badly!

See, I didn't mention you, avoided strawberry blonde comments and you go and admit it! But stay away from my warehouse with your hammer, you don't want to damage any more fingers in my business place...
