Question Advice on Skymaster purchase

Is it best to go direct thru Skymaster or order via BVM or another dealer? I will be ordering an F-18 F soon. I live in the US. Would appreciate hearing your experiences.

Thanks,

Jeremy

If you go through BVM, you will get fantastic customer service, as well as some improvements available for certain Skymaster jets..
BVM has developed a number of "Success Packs" (part packages for structural and installation improvements).
They are available for the F-104, F-4 1:73/4, Hawk, F-16, F-80, L-39 and the 2M Viper.

If you order through BVM, you get the same price as on the Skymaster website, so I have no idea why you would go direct?!? Going through BVM you get their level of guarantee that you'll get what you paid for, parts availability, and their customer service (and presence at jet events for help/parts)...

Personally, I contacted BVM initially but ended up ordering 2 jets direct from Skymaster and have never regretted it. Any time I've had an issue of any kind I have simply sent John an email and he has always taken care of my issue very promptly. While I agree that BVM service is outstanding, it has been my experience that Skymaster's service is outstanding as well. While you will pay the same price whether you order from BVM or direct from Skymaster, Skymaster offers discounted prices on items such as Savox servo packages, etc for their planes while BVM does not. There is nothing wrong with either choice. As I said, I initially contacted BVM but ended up ordering 2 jets direct from Skymaster and I've never regretted it. If I were ordering a plane that I was certain that BVM has built and has upgrades or a "success package" for, I would be inclined to order from them.

How can you go direct in the USA? Doesn't Sky master have an agreement with their distributor (BVM), selling direct would be undermining the whole dealer concept, unless BVM gets the commission on any US sales?

IMHO it would be foolish throwing your money overseas with no backup from a US representative... all of the threads about FEJ should of have had some lessons learned....

Go BMV.BVM sells the same discount packages that SM does plus you're giving your 50% deposit to a USA company

That's the whole Problem with the Chinese , the ink on the contract don't mean a thing! Skymaster sells to others in the USA without blinking an eye. I would go through BVM, best service and they speak English well Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm!

Spike,

There is also a west coast dealer you can purchase your Skymaster from. www.rcturbinejets.com Give Jeff a call and he will take good care of you as well. I know he has been a sales rep for Skymaster for years and knows the product inside and out.

I called BVM three weeks ago to get price for a 2m viper, T45 and shipping quotes and haven't heard back from them yet.
Not going to chase after them to sell me some jets. Business must be so good that my small purchase is not worth their time.
I'll call another company that wants my business!!!

rpm303,
Call BVM and talk to Patty, you will get what you want. I ordered my F-15 EDF thru them and had a great experience with them. Kept me up to date on my order and answered all my questions about the hole process. Great company!

It probably was patty that i spoke to. If i have to chase after them to sell me a jet then what will happen if i have a problem with it ???. Not starting off with any confidence in their customer service.

"RPM303"
Was it clear you wanted a quote? I called Patty for a quote on an F-16 with the prototype color scheme not listed (red, white&blue) she checked with someone at BVM and was told no. I e-mailed John at SM and he said they will so i forward the e-mail from SM to Patty and had a quote in 2 days. There was probibly miscommunication and thats why you didn't hear from them. The pricing is right on there website. Unless your asking for something special why do you need a quote?

This reseller talk would be true if it wasn't true that if you can get through to skymaster directly expect to pay 10% less than with any re-seller, many people have done this, skymaster usually tells them to stay quite about it. Its nothing new its a fact. my SM hawk was 580 cheaper directly from skymaster than any other re-seller.

And before anyone starts yelling, the same is true for CARF, TOMAHAWK, and possibly other vendors, talk with any of there direct reps or the company themselves they'll be able to save you more $ directly, even more if you are a repeat buyer.

BVM's customer service reputation does not need to be defended. There must have been a definite miscommunication. Don't let the door hit you on your way out.

"Rapptor" TURN OFF YOUR CAPS LOCK
SHOUTING is not required. He is just supplying what people want, quality at a price most people can afford. I wouldn't be flying a Viper if I had to pay for an airframe made here. Yes I will pay 10% more for BVM to be a middle man its cheap insurance to me to be able to call someone here thats speaks english and not send e-mails beck and forth. By the way there isn't a car mfg on the planet the hasn't had a major safety recall. What was bashing GM have to do with buying a jet for BVM?
