OK just heard back on the fuselage split - the fuselage will split after the wings making the nose section 73" (185cm) and the tail section 32" (81cm) - so you have a nose section, a tail section, removable one piece stab section, removable tail and naturally wings. This should allow it to fit in almost any vehicle other than a Smart car maybe
The details on how the internal components work based on this is yet to be decided but rest assured the whole jet will be strong and light even with the option to joint it.
What would be good are some ideas for paint schemes - this is always an area which causes more 'discussions' than the actual design of the jet itself so rather than poke at the schemes when they are presented lets have your input on some ideas to work from....................

I have found some images of schemes 'fantasy' types from a very cool web site - a few posted here probably more for those with scale jets who want something different but maybe some could be used on a sports jet......

Not sure, either way if these images were used as 'inspiration' for a scheme the design applied to the top and bottom surfaces is going to be unique to the customers interpretation so not sure if the copyright would really be relevant.
If any RCU member has the knowledge to comment that would be better advise.

I found this on another site which is on the cards to be made by another company and I post here to give an idea of what I was thinking of in reference of a 'retro' style sort model ie something that looks like an actual plane but is in fact not. There are many 40's-60's designs that are not or rarely modelled for inspiration, just to get away from the norm.

If you dont look through pink glasses, sorry, it looks the same as the rest. Right, the intake may look different .... take Paritech's natrix, for example - absolutely no similarities. Each to his own. I just think that all this premature praise and fuzz about another new sport jet is a bit hilarious. Get it in the air and impress with its extraordinary flying characteristics, then I'll probably reverse my statement to something like "it still looks the same but flies much better". Anyways, no offense, bring on that big Intruder and I am in.
By the way, another "sport jet" for the P70 can size is CC's small Viperjet which is excellent value for the money (so they say, I dont own one and never will).

No praise just letting people know whats in the pipeline and answering questions etc along the way, good old communication.

Like a lot of you, I got tired of the SAME OLD THING, so I decide to make my own. Here is a photo of the plane I chose. It is a FJ-1 Fury. This one has a wingspan of 76" and is 70" long. Total weight dry is 28 lbs. I am using a Jet Cat P-120 for power. I have a link to one that is being built in Germany. Not sure of the scale, but it is more scale than mine. If you are interested, PM me and I'll send it to you....

Happy New Year firstly to you all, hope its a blinder.
A few updates on the VIXEN since the last report.
The two prototypes are moulded and in the stages of being assembled, final former and internal structures were agreed a few days ago and a colour scheme (simple one) was also tabled for these two test aircraft. Testing should start end of this month.
Once tested and any adjustments made the Vixen will be launched - initially the first 10 kits are planned to be sold at a launch discount which should save around 10% on the RRP of the kit.
A few pics of the fuselage just out of the mould with 'test' formers being checked for size/fit etc.......

They wont be cheap ply formers they will be the formers Xtreme use in all their kits which is a carbon faced product.
As soon as the kit price has been confirmed I will post the details, if I can give a guide price earlier then I will do so too.

The pictures and information that we release, most of them are working in progress and they not reflect the final products, nevertheless we are glad to receive and encourage any comments related to our products.

Hi 757, whilst CF is used its not in huge quantities and its spaced apart and in the case of formers contains many lightening holes, most of the Xtreme kits use the CF sandwich former system and have been well tested.
In respect of the gear this is a 'standard' format, a custom designed oleo gear set will be supplied with the kits, this bolts to a very rigid and well designed mounting box which is tied into two main wing formers which are both doubled - the stresses of heavy landings will have their loads dissipated over large areas as a result. The gear is fitted to the wings and when these are removed so is the gear.
When the final internal wing structure is finalised I will hopefully post pictures of the assembly.

I took pics of the main gear attachments during my F-4 build to show how Gear structures should be designed. Three screws in the wood ribs are in shear making them nearly impossible to tear out during hard landing or runoff into soft grass. The retract unit screws into the CNC aluminum and are in tension. Also note the carbon and heavy fiberglass doublers in the gear well.
This design should become the NEW "standard.
