Jason,

Interest design, what is the size and weight of this jet ?

That was my Jet Legend F-4. She was 43lbs at takeoff and 104" long. Carried 210oz of fuel and a Jet Central Rhino for thrust. Also had option to carry an additional 50oz of smoke adding another 4 lbs to takeoff weight. Never any gear problems with this design.

Speaking to to the nose gear design, dual nose gear tires are a huge benifit when operating on soft grass as they reduce the footprint load of each tire. More surface area to distribute the load. This would also make a nice design addition.
The nose gear is strongest if mounted to a vertical bulkhead. The F-4 was done in this way. Again, never a gear torn out or failure.

It it should be widely understood that higher landing loads can be distributed into vertical bulkheads and ribs.

The Vixen is now at the prototype stage and #1is off to Florida Jets and then on to be tested by one of two pilots allocated kits for testing.

The colour scheme is not my personal choice but hopefully the overall impression is pleasing

If you get a chance to see it at FJ please post here your comments etc as it would be good feedback.

She looks good! what's the purpose of the protrusion in the outer part of the leading edge (F-4 Phantom like)? Drop tanks would look cool too!

The notch is called dog tooth it creates a vortex over the ailerons increasing the airflow over them and making the airplane more maneuverable, also decrease the stall speed.

Very interesting, thanks for the reply. Curious to see pricing. I personally don't like buying things that I can not sell. I've seen a few of the highest end sport jets relist in the classifieds multiple times (at a reasonable price compared to new), but not sell. I think it's because it's so ridiculously expensive to start with, that if you decide to purchase one, you'd better be willing to keep it..lol
Anyways, would like to see this in another scheme, & maybe with drop tanks, but it looks really good so far, right there with the best of them

The production kits will have hard points in the wings for drop tanks and these will be available too from Xtreme ARF.

It also has a belly mounted dive brake/speed brake similar to the F100.

Vixen, specifications are

Fuselage: 105'' (2667mm)
Wing Span: 94'' (2388mm)

It is big but easy to transport, the rear fuse can be separated by 4 screws accessible from outside and inside, the horizontal stab can be separated by 2 screws and the vertical stab also can be separated by 2 screws, so you can chose what you have to do to fit in your vehicle.

OK, so we should get the Vixen in our hands soon, looking forward to checking her out prior to Florida Jets. Now let' see, BillyD think we could find enough servos to give Rich a hand, bet it would only take a week or so to get it flying. Looks better in the pictures then the 3D model did.

Jason
I will be starting a build thread after FL Jets, Billy D. is transporting the Vixen to F Jets for display.

The model was shipped from China to the front of Billy D house with absolutely no issue, then unfortunately this gentlemen from DHL trashed the front fuselage when he couldn't get the box out of the truck because it was blocked in by other pallets, so rather than not delivering the model he though he had a better idea!

Unbelievably the driver thought it would be a good idea to unpack the model from the box... he took the fuselage out and leaned it against the outside of the truck on end and went back in for more parts. About this time is when a gust of wind blew the fuselage down the street. All this transpired before Bill D could get out of his house to stop the driver....

Needless to say now I have some paint and body work to do...Thank you Mr. DHL driver!
