Default How hot does the case get on a turbine?

Hello,

I'm installing a TamJets smoke system set up on my jet and was wondering how hot the outside case ("can") gets on the turbine. It's a bypassed installation and am concerned about the lines going to the injector tubes? Any input, ideas, pictures, would be greatly appreciated?

Since you have a Tam Jets pump, you probably have the smoke injector tubes as well.
The mounting tabs on the tubes fit under the engine mount straps to secure them in position.
I mocked one up on my KC to show you how they assemble to the engine. The engine heat will not be a factor.
Connect the pump to the tube with 6mm polyurethane or Tygon F-4040A tubing (Yellow).

Thanks Harley.

I did mount the injector tubes as per the instructions. I'm not concerned about them getting hot. I'm concerned about the polyurethane tubing that feeds the oil/diesel to the injector tubes. Mine will be in a bypassed installation and I don't want the p.u. tubing to melt? Anyone else have a bypassed set up they can show me?

Thanks

No pics to show you, but you won't have any problems in the bypass.

I've run my Tam's system in a fully by-passed Avonds F-15 for 10+ years, with no heat issues. The place I have the plastic tubing exit the bypass, causes it to curl away from the engine immediately. Secondly, the front of the metal tubes, where you slip over the plastic tubing, is by the front of the engine, around the compressor / diffuser, where it is normally cool.

As said above, install like the instructions, and have fun!

Ok, thanks guys;-) First time at this smoke thing...

Lance, Thanks for the explanation. I didn't think about the front of the turbine can not being that hot as its the compressor intake area and that's where my plastic tubing meets with a Y connector then out the side of the bypass w/ the rest of the wiring bundle...
