Looks good Ron, you will really enjoy it when it gets airborne. Program just a little rudder in with the ailerons and activate it with the flaps down to get the low speed handling where it needs to be.

Looks like it had a failure of some sort or shot down.

Watch the 3rd video clip.

I wonder ....did the pilot eject before it appears on camera?
Crashing in a spectacular fashion does not mean the pilot was aboard.
One report stated that the pilot and a small child were killed in the crash. Only one killed on the ground??

Actually, we should be more concerned with the eleven "missing" airliners.

"Constant 7g turn"? Why? The Mig-21 can't sustain a 7g turn.

Gus

Wow,

God-speed to the pilot and a good thought for his or her family. Always a bummer to see a life lost in a plane crash. Goes double for lives lost on the ground (and this one reportedly involves a child?) Not sure why this one seems to be so less worthy of people's empathy or even courtesy (particularly from a bunch of fellow pilots). Strange.

11 civilian airliners were in the Tripoli airport when the rebels took over--Now they are no where to be found.

I suppose it stems from all the conflict that "we" (the west) has had with Libya in years past.

And yes, any loss of life is tragic. Although, this certainly does not seem to be the case in the middle east with all the continual loss of life that occurs over there.

And really, this is not R/C jet related.

Hi Chris..

I have a 1967 ex Egyptian air force mig21u. It only has 460 hours total time. I only had it arrive from customs yesterday from its sea freight from Texas. I have been training in a L39 for all my jet training including upset and high G training.
My plan is to reassemble this for joy flights over here in Perth Western Australia with aerobatic and supersonic adventures.

Hey gus.. I don't know where you get your information from.. but if you are straight and level at only 75% dry power in cruising speed .82mach and pull a rate one turn (15000ft) you will be around 6 to 7g in that turn. If you have been in a aerobatic aircraft (extra, pits, edge) the Gs are very different compared to high speed basic turns in a jet. My landing speed ( touch down is 300km/h) in the mig is near the v max of most aerobatic airframes.
I have G suits in my aircraft but by training without them will build my tolerance to Gs.
In my past I have been over 7.5G in aerobatic birds but my first time in a jet pulling a constant 4 nearly made me black out. The difference between the two shocked me
I cant load pics... Ill keep trying this uploader wont load em up...
