If you get enough people to do a special order for the F-22, Add me to the list.

man I really thought there would be some outrage to this great plane going away.... this is the plane that lit a fire in me 20 years ago to become good enough to build and fly one
I built it and will say it was mentally very hard to keep powering on and get it done, nothing hard just a very long process that burned me out several times and I need help to get it done
but now that it's done and the pain is over I'm so proud of it more than you will ever feel for an ARF, I thought I was done building half way through this build, but after seeing what I made with my hands I want to keep on building
I wish I had more time to build and I wish that more guys would take up building.... with so many kits and some ARF's going away at some point I may need to learn to scratch build and I will if that's what it takes to show up with something different and feel proud of what I've made
I haven't flown my F-18 yet but to me that doesn't even matter I look at it and I'm proud as can be... it will fly this fall one way or the other
Hope I can find another one hiding on a shelf someday
if this thread would have popped up 10 years ago guys would have freaked out..... not anymore, they all fly ARF's and I understand.
I fly ARF's also, there cheaper and some are pretty well built.....but you just never have that same pride of a kit built plane that doesn't look like every other plane
bums me out

I have two of them and love the bug so much we are making composite wings for my second one. Or should I say third. First one had 872 flights and it met its demise when a contractor working in my garage dropped it from 12 feet ouch!! Second is twin K100 powered love it. This one will have K210 for blow and composite wings!!!

that's why I ordered a YA F-15 earlier this week. I may be in over my head with this project but I genuinely want to learn how to build and say I've done it. Im fortunate enough to have a job and lifestyle that allows me plenty of spare time to do something like this (Now if I got rid of the girlfriend I would have infinite amounts of time lol) I'm 28 now by the time I'm 50 or 60 who knows if kits will even still exist.

Just follow the directions amigo, one of the easiest builds on the planet and a superb flyer. I wish I had purchased the F15 you had previously. +1 on the GF...amazing how much time you can dedicate to the hobby,,,..and I can think of only ONE downside.. LOL whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat Van Wilder style

Hi,
Well, our in-country stock on the big F-18 kit has dwindled down to ONE. In the case of this ONE, I have it here in San Diego. We will no longer be bringing them over here for stock. They'll still be available for special order, but the shipping charges on that will be in the $500 to $600 dollar area. We plan to still stock major parts (like landing gear, etc.) for that kit for the time being.
The (LAST) kit I have in san diego features the kit, scale gear, wheels/brakes/tires, offset hinges wing pylons (2), and all the air cylinders for gear doors and speed brake. Shipping is around $200 in the CONUS.
Just to be clear, NO WE ARE NOT GOING OUT OF BUSINESS. We're just adjusting to the current (and sometimes lame) business atmosphere. As much as guys who've had them think our F-22 was awesome, that added up to about 9 people. The venerable old Hornet has sales that justify its continued creation, but not its continued importation into the US by the container.
If you would like this last kit, let me know!
