No mate I didn't bother as the kit is still the polyester version.. Which didn't really bother me.. It was the freight costs to Australia..

Hi,

Yeah. I remember pricing that shipping out for a few different kits. Ouch. "Price-prohibitive" is such a polite euphemism for what amounts to a swift kick in the bum. Sorry to hear that. You know, in many ways I prefer the green polyester glass. For one thing, you can see through it which is really helpful during some construction steps. Also, it's a bit more rigid than the new glass. The only real downside is the narrower selection of suitable adhesives, but other than that it's just as good in my opinion. I definitely appreciate the carbon in the newer kits--especially in the wings. Anyway, let me know if you change your mind. We've only got a couple of those left!

Negative re: getting another F-4. I want a 1/5th F-4 and unfortunately none are made. I want to see it parked beside my 1/5th 104. 😄

Very True.. I just use Hysol on nearly everything.. Seems to work great..
