Charles has closed shop and has zero kits left. The molds were not purchased because Charles would not sell them. People aggressively tried he would not change his mind. Very sad, they are beautiful kits.

From a pure money standpoint this makes so little sense to me.. Why would someone not sell something they not longer want to produce? It's a very strange (sad) story for sure.

For the same strange reasons they would buy molds and designs over the years and then never bring them to market. Doesn't make sense but it his decision.

Its called spite. The personal pride torn when someone can make a succesful business out of one where you have somewhat failed.
My conclusion over the years....Charles hated Yellow Aircraft. LOL
He treated it like a tax writeoff.
Again...only my perception. Im sure others closer to him would disagree.

In addition to what has been said, his business acumen and attention to customer service was the worst on the planet…….

It would be a very expensive proposition to buy the molds and ship the back from China. Likewise, to contract and produce in China then ship containers of kits to the US would be expensive for a startup. Right now, kits are not exactly a huge seller. Kit building might be on the rise slightly mainly due to the price of the ARFs getting higher and higher due to shipping and Chinese wages increasing.

If you dropped several hundred thousand dollars to buy the company, molds, rights and then have an inventory produced overseas, how long would it take to recoup that cost? I have no idea what Yellow Aircraft would be worth to buy, but I know of other defunct kit companies that thought their designs were worth 30-50K each or more. Of course, they did not sell either.....

If there are no more. Only way, you make yourself a quick mould to make a canopy for yourself. Regards Martin

Like the fact that 10 years ago BVM bought the Details4Scale Panther molds and never brought to market. Looks like even BVM does it!!!!

I have one of the six sold by Details4scale....
Looks pretty good, but the wing panels are heavy. Hinging the rudder is a major pain.

Ram-bro, I have the F-4 manual. What do you need ? Throws and CG or everything copied?

also beef up the LG area with 1/8 dowls going into the foam wings to help spread the loads of landing. Simple drill from LG block, I used 1/4 Acft grade ply LG mounts, and had 4 dowls coming out from the corners into the wing foam at 45 degrees or so.
