Body Wraps for RC Jets
Guys I messed up my Carf Rookie 2. I just finished the glass work
As I see it my options are to spend $70 for Carf tuchup paint
$200 for ppg paint and a nee design
Or try something different
I went to a local body wrap shop to see what they would say
They were excited and I have to bring the jet in tomorrow so they can get a better visual
They told me it may be $200 to 350 to get the Rookie wrapped. No painting to worry about. And since I will be paying for a full printed sheet I may be able to get 2 printing for the same cost just in case something happens later down the road pluse I get a copy of the digital file to reprint any time
What do you guys think about this? As the Rookie is not scale but just a fun ship ship it sounds cool to me
Here are some design im thinking about

The biggest downside is the weight. Vinyl wraps are thick and heavy. They also use heat guns on compound curves and a lot of pressure to smooth out the vinyl. This can be problematic on the composite skins on our jets. The other issue is depending on the printing process they use it may not be all that resistant to spilled kero. Johnny Hernandez did it on a jet before he passed away and it was ok but I believe it was an ultra bandit where the weight wasn't such a big deal. Even in pictures though I noticed the seams and thought they looked pretty bad. Just my opinion.

I had a obtained a quote here in Australia for a vinyl wrap for a PST Reaction and they wanted like $1300. I could buy another Reaction for that cost. No thanks.
I think once they see the model the cost will go up,
good luck with it all however.
