Default We have lost another good man too early

Jet buds,

I'm so sorry to say, that my good friend, and long time jet enthusiast Alan D'elena has flown west, at way to young of an age. Alan was a great person, and a huge asset to the jet community at large. He is at the right in the photo. Godspeed my friend. Rest in peace.

Erik

Holy.... That is a shock. I didn't know him well but I did buy an engine from him and chatted a few times. I will never forget the video of his Skymaster gripen throwing out the elevon servos and flapping itself to death. Always appreciated his enthusiasm for the hobby.

So sad to lose another flying friend. I will always think of him when I am flying with my jet buddies. It's hard to belive we were just all together at the fall rally four weekends ago having fun together when Alan walked by and we talked for a few minutes about our projects. The G-force guys were always a hoot to be around in the pits and Alan was a great person and modeler. Prayers to his family and friends everywhere in the jet community.

Those are great pictures of Alan. He was always helping others before he ever took his airplanes out of the trailer. Even sometimes not flying at all after making the 2 hour trip to the field.

A very great loss to everyone.

My heartfelt sympathy to his family and friends.

I miss Alan very much already. I had seen him in the hospital almost every day over the last week. Over the last year I saw him more i think than my wife and kids in the shop. I would be on the phone with him talking planes and life all the time, and any time i would be anywhere flying, he was there also. There is an empty hole left for many of us with the loss of Alan. I am still in shock, and every time i have walked into the shop its like hes just going to be there like he always was. I watched on Friday as Alan was removed off of life support with his parents and sister there. I don't even know what to say. At least we know he did not suffer.

Everyone will remember him as the guy who would always help everyone else. Even when done wrong or taken advantage of, he'd juts let it go, and not think twice about helping again. We can all learn from this.

Voy

a "True believer and my friend: Gone West. . .Alan was truly a person who put others before himself. . .Alan would call me saying he was with another jet guy who was having an issue with a turbine. He called so he could help. . .and help he did. He, while enjoying this hobby immensely, was always standing by to assist anyone who asked. His conversations were never about himself, always of others. Alan, we know you have your eyes on us and will till we meet again. God Speed. . .

Some say that being a successful person is not about having the most toys, or bank account with the biggest amount. But in how good are the memories this person bring to his family and friends.

Seems that your friend was a very successful person and flier. Is great to see he has great friends too.

My condolences to Alan's family and friends. I did not know him but having made several Farwiew Jet meets in the past I definitely recognize him. Much too young.
