Default Huge scratch-built SU-25 bomber from Norway

This model was built by my friend here in Norway, it has 2x30 kg turbines and weighs in at approx 140 kg or
about 300 lb. The main wheels are gocart wheels and it flies like the real thing! He is now in the process of
fitting scale details and painting it, it is an amazing feat!!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cp55UvTfe34&feature=youtu.be Here you see him taxiing in an unusual configuration!!!

Great maiden flight. Extremely realistic both in the air and on the ground.

300 lbs eh.

Amazing!!

Yes it's very impressive in the air!! The go cart wheels make it look a little cartoonish on the ground but I can totally understand how hard it would be to find wheels and tires in that size.

is he planning to make some ordinance for it?

thanks

It seems very heavy for the size. Very nice though.

I guess it just proves the theory that given enough power , a brick will fly .

If I'm not mistaken , the real thing was designed to fly from less than perfect runways . Hence the big wheels .

The tires looks ok and will look much better when you rounded the edges and cover the silver aluminum wheals ,grate looking jet the finest russian jet in Afghanistan so bad the Russian pilot didn't use the fighter potential .

Love it! Big, ugly and different. It also flies really smooth. Well done!

It will be outfitted with ordnance, wheel hubs and everything else will be painted and it will probably look something like this:

Pretty cool, but 300lbs!!!

Bricklayer or not, has someone checked it isn't full of bricks?! It's not really THAT big. If I saw it sat at an event I'd guess 60-70 odd pounds based upon models of similar size!

I think you'll find that the wheels weigh 200Ib of the 300!

One of the all time great quotes from a man who who built a 300lb jet.

We have all seen models that fly 'heavy' but that flight did not look that way to me.

I think it flys great - *much* better than those 1/3 or 1/2 scale models that weigh 70-80 lbs and fly like kites!

+1, .. nothing against giant "kites" but this is nicer in my opinion.. and about safety concerns I am sure that how much this model weights is irrelevant as this kind of models are always flown in a proper and safe place.

Fantastic model.. very nice to watch it fly.
