It´s on pilots choice to use mixers to increase or decrease gain in different flight situations.
Im about to buy a gyro for my Electra, I have a Cortex in another plane and love it, but this is obviously cheaper..The cortex you use normal mode for flight, ( Jet Flying, not 3D) but the Igyro 3e, are you saying to use Heading mode?? Could someone please clarify this for me? Thanks

Hello,

you don´t have to use Heading mode if you don´t want to. But the Heading mode in the iGyro is much different from other brands: you don´t feel it much but the plane flies very exactly. Try it!

Looks nice!

PS - what is the feeling by people with experience in this system on the "Sensor Switch" as offered by some purchase options?

Cheers, Happy New Year to all-

5 more flights today. I tried Heading hold in 4 of these. Yes. As Richard says. By far the best heading hold functionality of any Gyro that I have ever tried. However. It is for sure more noticeable that the gyro system is active. Where as in non heading hold there is little to no way to feel that the gyro is actually fitted. Other then the improvement in the way the model flew. I have mine set up exactly how the quick guide suggested. A three position switch with o% in the middle and 40% + and - Either end. I can then switch the gyro off and in between heading and normal mode. This really shows what a difference the gyro makes to the model in the air. After about 3 or 4 flights, I am now switching on and making the complete flight in normal mode. An amazing piece of equipment that improves the way any model flies.

Ali do you have to turn of heading hold for take-off and landing? I havent tried heading-lock on fixed wing yet but I think I would the jet staying were I put it regardless of the wings, being able to leave it on all the time would be nice. Thoughts?

There are options to buy just the gyro a la carte, and options to buy the gyro with a "sensor switch" and I was wondering if some of you knew what that was all about. It's a pretty hefy bump to the price - from essentially $250 to $450. Not that I'm looking to dump money, but I'm curious as to what it is and does. Check link below. Thanks!

OK. That is the std iGyro, not the simpler cheaper 3e.
The price difference on the std more complicated iGyro is the GPS speed sensor and USB programming lead included.

Hi Eddie. Yes the big brother has a switch option but the little e3 does not. You can buy them at
https://duraliteflightsystems.com/in...product_id=491
and have them in stock.

Hi
Fitted the IGYRO 3e today pretty straight forward not sure why they say to set it up on a slider first however am sure someone will tell me. I just set it up on a three position switch as in then instructions +45 -40 and checked direction. So hope to get some out soon to see how it feels.

!!!! Caution !!!!

The 40% / 45% in the manual is just an example! Not for your plane! You should use a slider to adjust it in flight. When you found the point where the gyro is stable and not oscillating you take this value of your slider and put it on a switch.

THANKS! Makes sense now.

PS, I just bought one. I was sold by the price and the feedback. I was still in the process of mentally morphing to buy the Cortex... the price point of the Cortex seemed about 200 more than I really wanted to spend on a gyro. This iGyro 3E was was only 70 over with good flight test feedback, so there you have it, my arm was twisted. Looking forward to flying it on a variety of test aircraft now.

HI, I guess printing in and out, would make this gyro , even easyer to install.
Installed mine today, very simple, for reverse, you just have to read the instructions twice, but was very easy.
Happy with the 3e gyro.

Will ask when I get it hooked up. In the mean time are there any set up videos for this gyro. I've seen them for the big brother to this but not the 3e

Just got one of these at MS AB event during an auction. Is there a way to use this unit on a F-18, twin rudders, Ailerons, Elev's...and Nose Steering? Or would it need to add the iGyro 1e for the Steering?

Thx,
Rex

Rex,

I think you'll need to Y the rudders and add a 1e to the steering or Y that into the rudders as well. Is your nose steering on its own channel?

Yes, I have Nose Steering on it's own channel and mixed into the Rudders. I was wondering if I could Y off one of the rudders. I do have a 1e sitting in my shop, waiting to be used too

What's the best way to set the F-18 up since I do have the 3e and 1e?

It would probably be best to just use the 1e on the steering since you already have it.

Hey for the cross wind landings did you need to use heading hold mode or just rate mode?
