Mig 1.44 project for 2015
Hello everyone, Seasons Greetings to you all.
I would like to introduce yon to my scratch build (in progress) of the MIG 1.44.
I have designed it at 1/8th scale so it will be able to fit into an estate car with ease. Attached below are just some of the pictures from this past year. As you can see, there is lots more still to do and I do hope you enjoy this as I move on with this project.
Some videos of the build are here on my Youtube Chanel with more to follow as I go...............

I would like to attempt something like this with a MiG-29. I have a plastic model like you used for yours. After you cut it into pieces how did you input the parts into your cad program? I was also wondering which cad program you use?
I have watched all of your videos. They are an excellent way to see how the whole process is done.
I am looking forward to seeing the progress.

Once you have scanned the cut parts into your computer how do you align them with the cad program? I have worked some with cad but I'm not a real expert.
I hope you had a Merry Christmas.
Thanks for the help.

If you note I placed the model on some ca-rbody filler before I cut it up on the saw. This acted as a datum line. When I scanned the parts in I had a ref level and known sizes to scale from. Also then merged with a few 3 vie drawings to see if it all matched. Once that was don, I hit it all with a lot of extra cad work to get the bits needed for final cutting of parts.
