As I am getting to that much closer into the build I am going to have to get to this sooner than later. I think I will take you up on the nose gear. I have a PM into the fellow who's picture I borrowed. I think he made his own lens. Maybe he can help out too. Let me now Mike what you would need on costs and things.

Thanks
Alan

K.O.

I used a couple small dabs of epoxy to keep the light in. I think I siliconed or hot glued the clear plastic covers.

I got a reply for a guy on RCU... I ended up making small ply brackets, and securing them with a dab of high temp silicone gasket maker....

"I made a wood mount similar to yours. To secure it a little better I used some of the heat resistant glue they sell. Pretty similar to Rtv in its not permanent like epoxy or hysol."

I'm at work or I'd post a pic. Lemme know if you want to see what I did.... thanks for your reply

Help !!!
I've got the 8ch Pro Controller running a varity of lights on a 3 position switch - OFF / Scheme 2- Anti-collision lights, Scheme 5 Anticollision and Nav lights. Now I am adding landing light and I have the " Servo 1 " lead Y-d to the gear channel... Landing light is not responding to the gear channel command... Just stays on in Scheme 2 & 5... I want the landing light to come on in Scheme 2 & 5 but only when the gear is in the down position... I assume I am missing something.. Bigtime !! I even mixed the gear channel to an Aux channel and plugged "servo 1 " into that and I get the same result as the y-harness.. I sure could use some help...

Cheers,

Dan

What do you mean by 'servo 1 y-d to the gear channel'?

Do you mean servo 1 or the controller input? Servo 1 on the controller is an output.

Hi, yes you are missing something :-)
The servo 1 & 2 are outputs to control dropout lights or similiar. Landing lights should be programmed and selected by your transmitter same as the other light schemes. Have a look to the short tutorial

Yes !! I missed " Bigley " !!! I did figure out that the servo ouputs were not what I thought and operate drop lights and such... I had to do a mix in the radio to the gear channel and create additional Schemes in the layout... I don't know how I did it but I did it... It's working as wanted. Thanks for your help, the tutorial makes sense now !! Awesome lighting, Im sure we will be doing more in the future !!!

Cheers,
Dan

Yes, the gear dependend landing light is bit a bit "advanced" stuff. But there is a lot possible with this kind of programming and modern transmitters. And the standard controlling by a 3-position switch is quite fine for 90% of all cases ;-)

Anyone have suggestions on how to attach the clear lens cap to the front of the single 38mm landing light unit?

Yes, a very small amount of cyno.
Carefully position the lens on the light to make sure it's central first, a bit of cyno on the end of a pin or similar and slight finger pressure on the lens.
Capilliary action will do the trick!

I would use epoxy if it was me.

I would be worried about cyano fogging the lens but it might be ok if you only use a tiny amount.

Hi,

A little bit epoxy is the safer way. Easier to handle and adjust, better compensate temperature differences and no risk of fogging the lense. Additional you can use a small stripe of tape around the reflector to hold the lens centered while drying, also looks very nice when it is only 3mm wide...

Hi

I am having a lot of trouble setting up the 8 channel controller. Lost now several hours trying to connect and though I am now connected and conncetion dor is blinking, I can not run the controller with the servo tester. The bars dont light up and there is this message error processing data 0002

I send a mail to Unilight and saw their tutorial in youtube, but going crazy with this..... hope it is not defective

Any one go thru this issue?

Thanks

Nuno

Nuno try to click on the Com port on the top left of the screen. Cycle through the port numbers and see if that picks up your receiver signal which will light up the bars. Mine was not correct by default and I had to search for the correct port. Once I got the right one it was all good. May not be the case with yours but worth a try.

Hi, and try to use a different USB cable and/or on another PC. Sometimes other devices conflicts with the serial USB port. If no difference, then send it to us for checking please.

Look at the LEDs at flytron.com they have but in controllers on the lights

I follow the instruction but when finish the blue light makes 6 blinks next 1 long blink and start again the sequence, all time the four lights are on and don’t recognize the signal transmitter, I made a lot of resets but nothing happens simply all time the 4 lights are on.

thanks for your help

Javier, I would advise you to email unilight describing the problem, if it's faulty which I suspect they will authorise a repair.
Their service is very good!
