Heraldo,
Glad you got your F-16 working well. Great video. Looks like a real F-16 on final with nose up and good approach speed. The idea for reducing the flap setting came from BVM rep Greg Arnette from his testing the BVM 1/5 F-16. It really helped tame mine along with getting the CG far enough aft and reducing the elevator rate for final approach. I really like your flying site.
Great Job.

Cool video Heraldo. Love the slow roll right to left. Mate that thing didn't even look like dropping a wing during slow flight either.
Mines got a 300 as well. Are you happy with the power, flight times and fuel economy?

The F16 with P300 has a lot of power.. more than enough.. almost unlimited vertical
A am flying 9minutes until open landing gear and landing.. (10:30 minutes from take of to landing) and still have almost 1.5L in the tank.
In the past i was flying 12 minutes but if you do a flight more agressive using more power.. you will land almost without fuel.. so i reduce to 10:30

Levi,
My B300F is very similar to Heraldo's P300 on fuel. I fly an 8 min timer and then land for about 9:30 total. If I fill the saddle tanks full the center tank lands full. I have recently been filling the saddle tanks to about 70% to save takeoff weight and still have nearly 1.7-2.0 liters in the center tank. More aggressive thrust use or extra approaches will use more. Lowest I ever had was about 30% remaining in center tank after several practice approaches.

Peter,
If I remember correctly the saddle tanks are approximately 100 oz (2.9 ltr) each and the center tank is approximately 80 oz (2.3 ltr) for a total of 280 oz (8.2 ltr). I find I have on average 70-80% center tank remaining after an 8 min timer and about 9:30 total flight time with the B300F. Of course it all depends on thrust management during the flight and number of practice approaches I make prior to landing.

Gary is correct on the fuel size. I'm running just the 2 saddles with the K210 and after 6 minutes I have just under 1/2 tanks. All my flights were at an event so I just kept the times short (6min) in case I have to loiter for a few minutes with the busy flight line. Building mine lite and not carrying that extra 80oz of fuel makes a big difference in performance. Ali has flown a few of these and after flying mine he really liked the way it performed. It's not one to one (which wasn't a big deal for me as I have a couple other jets that are) but the light wing loading makes it a blast to fly!
I have a bit of slop in my wings and I hear this is common and if not kept an eye on can lead to problems, anybody else notice it? I do wish it used a clamp on spar system like my other Skymaster models....

Thanks very much for the info Heraldo and Gary. Im running a slighty smaller third tank than the stock one. I cut the tank and glassed a baffle in the centre then I'm running two clunks into the air trap with single out. Glad I can learn from your testing. I've finished painting and am well into the install. I have the canopy, lights and some scale details to finish off.
Heres a pic of mine at the moment.

Just wondering what configuration you guys are running the lighting system on? Gary maybe you could let us know the correct sequence for the position, chute and fin lights, and also the lights at the fin base?
Thanks

Levi,
All I can remember now is it was mostly bright flash, strobe (anti collision) on, or dim steady strobe off for most ops. Here is the panel that was in all the jets I flew. It been since '95 since I flew one.
Here is a thread that explains the lights use very well.

FYI for anyone interested, I just got a reply from Mr. Lee Kai from Skymaster about the recommended air pressure for the F-16 struts.
He recommends 50psi.
I found the service port for the nose gear after looking a little harder after my first post. It is on the top front of the strut and is plainly visible when retracted. A little hidden when extended and I missed it.

Hello fellas,
Just wondering if anyone has looked into an aftermarket super scale cockpit for the 1/5 F16? The stock SM one is ok, it's just that you see a lot of cockpit with the F16 as the pilot is high up into the canopy glass and the cockpit is very visible, so I think worth the effort to detail it up.
I came across a nicely detailed aftermarket cockpit for the 1/5 F16 by a guy named Anton Robertsson. He responded straight away to my email with photos, a timeframe and price and seems like a really nice guy. I'm just being cautious as I know nothing about him. Has anyone had any dealings with Anton Robertsson?
Thanks
Levi

Having dramas with the SM lighting system. After hearing from Gary and doing some research I decided the most scale config for the lights is to have the intake, wingtip and top tail lights flashing either together or with the top tail light strobe slightly different. The probelm is the SM system only has one plug with 4 outlets for flashing, the rest are solid. I need 6 outlets for flashing. I could Y lead the input for flashing but that loads up that input and dims the lights.
Any suggestions?
If I can't sort this I may throw out the SM system and order the Unilight or D4S one.
Thanks
