Hey Guys,
Anyone have problems with nose gear not retracting fully? Mine retracts 95% but just doesn't have the mechanical power to pull that last bit up into the fuse. I'm running two jet tronic valves in parallel for the mains and nose gear. Mains work perfect.
Im thinking of running a seperate high flow valve for the nose but not sure if that will help. I'm running up to 110 psi and the nose still won't go up fully. Here's a video if it turns out.
Thanks
Levi

Hey Gary,
Have not flown yet mate. Next weekend hopefully. I'm about to weigh her and check CG in the next few days so I'll let you know.
Glad your nose gear works. I've not heard of anyone else with problems. Mine just gets real tight during that last 5% of retraction when the gear twists into the fuse. I've loosened off some bolts but will try a few more and see if that frees her up.
I could run a seperate high flow valve for the nose gear but as the plane is complete that's a big task to pull things out to access the air lines.
Any tips Anton or Likai?
Cheers

I had planed on using the electronic valves as well, however I was worried about the PSI restrictions of the valves. Jertoncis are about 140 max and the Xicoy is 100 max. Both great for mid size gearl. I've decided on the UP3 mechanical valve by Ultra Precision. Its capable of 200 PSI. I will upgrade to larger tanks to support the pressure. Will work the gear and doors just fine i think....

Ok.. During my research, The factory said not to go past 100PSI max or the valve could possibly fail. This is why i was looking at other options. Maybe one valve for nose and 2 for mains or just 1 and 1?

Thanks for the info Brian. Digital I'm starting to think pressure is not the problem with my set up. The centre yoak or junction where the leg pivots to twist seems tight. I had my gear sprayed at the factory so maybe some paint got in there and is binding it up.

My Feedback: (20)
Paint could very well be the problem. My gear had paint all over it and some in the wrong places. Hope you can sort it all out ok. I'm using Jetronic valves and 95-100 psi with no issues so far. I do have two largest size bottles on the gear and door system.

i put 2 cilinders in the back of the main door.. with that setup is perfect. My friend install just 1 cilinder in the back.. and keep the regular cilinder in the front.. also fix the problem.
