Hope to see several of those at this years event. I hear through the rumor mill Doug Boyle might be bringing one!

RCU finally fixed the thread for me to see and post. Larry I sent Robert a message about the JPO trophy. Once I get the form from him I'll send it in. I am really looking forward to this years event and the rest of my traveling buddies as well.

Ron, Larry is the CD so I will download the form and have him fill it out and get it back to you this weekend.

Hello, my first time coming to fly at a jet meet. Is there a registration requirement or is it a come one come all event? Thanks. Chic

Chic, you can preregister or just show up. Larry is posting the tent rentals and registration stuff very soon. We stay at the Microtel and no matter where you stay the people go out of their way to help. The big thing to know is that not every hotel has an elevator so if you have to lug equipment in get a first floor room.

Jet meets are a blast. They may seem intimidating at first, but they're really not - everybody is there for the same reason - to fly and have fun.

You'll need to show your AMA card and if you're flying turbines, of course you'll need to have a turbine waiver. You're required to fly with a spotter at jet events. If you come by yourself and don't know anybody there, see Larry or Robert, or the guys at the registration table and they'll help you find somebody.

You're from VA, so you know that you'll need a tent (either rent one from Larry or bring your own) or you'll fry in the sun...

Look me up when you get there and if you don't know anybody, I'll introduce you to some folks - Ron will do the same as well...

Ron and Bob - Thank you both. Will certainly look the two of you up when I get there. Bob, smile, if you get into trouble flying a drone down there in Richmond, let me know, my brother in law is the Sheriff (CT Woody). I'll twist the heck out of his arm. Ron, hope the lady is doing much better. You guys are great, thank you both again. Chic

Chic....since it is your first jet event it is customary to let everybody fly your jets first. Then you are required to buy beer fir the whole gang afterwards. Other than that you should be OK.

Hey Guys! Sorry for the delay in posting tent info. At the last moment I decided to take a trip down to FJ and see friends, then upon returning home I had to leave town on a business trip. Plan is to post all tent info Wednesday and start taking orders in usual manner.

Attention Folks! Due to an Over Whelming amount of tent rental request in recent days, we are having to make a big decision here. Unfortunately, we are forced to stop taking any more request as of today. Due to a big increase in larger tent sizes, and having a higher number of pilots attending we are simply running out of real estate! All request received as of yesterday ( 4/30/15) will be covered.

Larry,
Saw a picture of last year's event and it looked like way more rental tents than two years ago when I was there.
Is there still room for pop up tents? Looking forward to coming back this year.

Hey Mike,
Yes,,,, we have quite a few rentals these days!!! Usually fill both sides of the pit area from flight line to the ramp area. I think last year we had around 19 or so ranging from 20X20 to 40X40. FIF has quickly grown into a well attended event.
But,,,,, we do have room each year to place pop ups. We'll always find room when our pilots and friends come to support us. So load your stuff up and get on down here buddy.

Just a minor point of fact, Connecticut was "first in flight" 2 years before the Wright Brothers.
