7th annual Plum Island Jet Rally held at The Plum Island Airport in Newbury MA June
7[SUP]th[/SUP] annual Plum Island Jet Rally held at The Plum Island Airport in Newbury MA June 18[SUP]th[/SUP] through June 21st. We have added Thursday to the event for 4 days of flying. Airport will be open to full size aircraft on Thursday and Friday, but will be closed to full size aircraft on Saturday and Sunday. Flying starts at 9:00am and ends at 4:30PM each day. There will be Food available on Saturday and Sunday Only so plan ahead. Event is restricted to Turbine and Ducted fan aircraft only, No Helicopters. We are also adding Tent rentals this year for those who may need them. Any questions please email me at [email protected] Hope to see you there
Price for event will be 40.00.

Great news Mike and this will be my season opener. The gnats will be gone due to the snow cover but the Green Heads may just be emerging. Will be bringing my snow shovel and OFF. Looking forward to the 9th Annual Plum Isl. Jet Rally

Hi Mike,
I currently have more snow on my plowed driveway than the Plum Island runway-and it is currently snowing! Hope it all melts by mid- June.
Any update on new lodging in the Newburyport area? I recall that you mentioned that another motel is being planned/built. Our usual B&B is booked for that weekend.

I can't wait to get flying again. This winter crap is for the birds.
for those of you who are not familiar with the Plum Island Jet Rally here is a video of the flying site taken from Steve's quad. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5J2e_ckBd7o
We have a paved runway about 50' wide and a few thousand feet long. the airfield is Non towered and the full scale traffic into this field is very minimal on the busiest days.
The atmosphere is laid back and it's all about the flying. Then when the flying is done it's all about spending time with friends and enjoying the camaraderie. Plum island Airport (2B2) is located about 40 minutes north of Boston on the Massachusetts seacoast. The area is absolutely one of the most scenic areas of Massachusetts and you don't have the hassle of Cape Cod traffic. Bring your spouse and kids for a great getaway weekend.
I can also be reached by cell phone for tent reservations. My number is (781) 254-6351
Get the fleet ready. Warmer temps aren't far away.

Gents....if anyone else wants tent space I need go know by Tuesday. We have two 20 x 40 that are sold out. A 20 x 40 is $400. Please let me know by Tuesday what your needs are.

GREAT news on the 2nd "Jets Only" event in Oct as I plan to attend-rather than the "other Oct" event in an adjoining state.
My ETA for the June event is this Thursday afternoon. I won't need a rental tent. Looking forward to seeing you and all the N. England jet pilots at Plum Island.

Bad news boys and girls. We can't make it this year. Really wanted to, but our nused camper will not be ready. We found a bad leak during pre-delivery inspection. Fortunately, since we had not driven off the lot yet, they are fixing it on their dime. But also at their time.
We'll be there next year. Try to have fun without us...
