Default Elite Aerosports Shockwave build thread..

Hi Guys,

I am now building the EA Shockwave for a dear friend, purchased from Ali at JP2014..
Very impressed with the overall quality, no surprise there.

Will be using Futaba TX, powerbox srs, Behotec 220 turbine, Savox 2270 servos.

I am starting with the wings, here are some pics.

Cheers,

Ziv

Ours wasn't too crowded, Most everything went underneath the tray.. Lots of room in here. Cortex will go next to receiver.

Hi Guys,

Been doing the wiring and airline setup. Had to plan it carefully to make sure it goes through the fuel cells area without an issue.
Here it is..

Wings are done. Robart quick connects with bulk connection to the fuse. Powerbox connectors with dual servo outputs. Had to make a cutout hole in the wing root to nake sure it all goes inside when the wing connects.

Thanks scott!

On with the game..

Planning the equipment trays. Made an upper one to hold all the air and fuel filling gauges.
Goes directly under the canopy, easy access to everything.
It will be painted yellow when done.

That is just too clean, I wonder if you can make a PDF template of your cutout and upload? It should fit on a 8.5x11 page. Out of all the planes I have seen your looks best, just like UB.

Thanks!
I will try to make a template if you want. Will draw the outlines on a A4 paper and scan it.
The Behotec 220 needed extra plates to extend the mount to reach the wood. Made some 4.5cmX9cm alum. 3mm thick plates, and it fits perfectly.
Also, finished the equip. plates cutouts, and covered them with fuberglass cloth to make the necessary finish for the yellow paint.

More tomorrow.

Cheers,
Ziv

Hi Scott,

Yes I did. I had to drill through the main spar carefully to get the wiring through there and into the other side of the wheel well. It was dificult, but I managed to do it. It is worth the work, I think.
Will post more progress tonight.

Best regards,

Ziv

Hey,

Did the final instalation of the front wheel. Made 2mm spacers to lift the gear a little bit, so the gear door will close, otherwise it sticks out a bit and prevents the door from closing.
Also, the powerbox wood mount glued to the bottom of the fuse, under the tray. The access to the wires will be through the hole made in the tray for the PB screen.

Equip. Tray is trimmed, painted in white primer and sanded. I went to the autoshop today and prepared a matching yellow Dupont paint for the trays. Will paint tomorrow.

Clean and exquisite work Ziv !
However IMHO I wouldnt be jumping around punching holes in a wing spar which apparently is designed to withstand 20+ G's of load before verifying it with the desginer/manufacturer . But that's just me and my two cents.
