Hi Alan

We fly jets in a regular basis in Lisbon. You will find people flying props in Algarve in Albufeira, Lagos etc. You have to go north to fly jets

Here is where I maiden my Yak a couple of weeks

Hi Nuno

Thanks for that, we are heading back home Sunday morning but we are at some time coming back on our FJR1300 tourer and would drive through Lisbon.
As we are South we will not have enough time to drive up north but thanks for the info

Hi Alan,

The Runaway Bay Club is no longer, but we have a few others - I fly at LARCS.

My family own a few villa's on the Algarve and I will probably spend some time every year out there. I will have a look at keeping something to fly there, for when I am around.

Cheers,

Jan

Hi guys,

Any updates on where to fly on the Algarve yet? Even close to the Spanish border will do. Please let me know.

Happy New Year.

Jan, nearest place to fly jets together with other RC jets pilot should be the Club Radiocontrol Sevilla, in South Spain:

https://es-es.facebook.com/clubradiocontrolsevilla/

They even held a jet aerobatic competition for promoting jet flying.

Jesus,

Thank you very much for this information. I have checked and this club is 200 kms from where I go on the Algarve, so it will be possible to go there for some jet flying, but not very often. Do you know anyone at the club (who speak English) that I could contact?

If you have any other suggestions, it will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Jan

Jan I have been contacted by one of the club directors and informed they have a member from Canada who will be your contact person there.

For flying within the club it is neccesary to have an Spanish Air Sport Licence -only obtainable through Spanish model clubs and intended for his members- but they also offer the possibility of getting an special RC Flyng Hability Licence for just 28,15€, stablished by the Andalusia Sports Law and which includes responsbility and accidents costs coverage.

I am awaiting the corresponding contact mail from the Canadian member and he will explain in detail requirements for flying in the Sevilla club.

Best Regards.

Jesus,

Thank you very much for your help, much appreciated. I am planning to be on the Algarve in May this year and it will be good if I have a contact person like the Canadian guy, you mentioned.

Regards,

Jan
