New Mibo A-10 Gen 5.5

I started working on the cables cleaning yesterday :
I have received my dreamworks order with all the tubing, festo parts and JMP air trap.
I took the extra large version so I'll install them as close as I can to the tanks for a better CG. Unfortunately the hosing are too big for a Festo 6mm tube. I've also ordered some Tygon 8mm but I was not planning to use it all along ... So yesterday I've ordered some 8mm to 6mm barbed tubing connectors. Do you think that's going to be an issue ?
Using 8mm Tygon for all 3 hosing of the JMP with a 8mm to 6mm barbed connector and then use a 6mm Festo tube.
I did a blank mount of the JMP :
Thanks for your feedback.
Jim.

Quick update,
I did a tray for the UAT, the pump and ECU will come also on that carbon plate.
cables cleaning is almost complete.
The cables hanging on the left are connected to the powerbox, when the radio tray is installed of course. I still need to install connectors locks on every servo extensions wires.
Also I had fun installing the vent lines. These caps are not cheap but it looks nice
I must say working on this plane is easy, lot of space to work and well engineered.

Thats a nice looking install you have going there. I have used those type of docking vents before and still have some of them on most of the fleet. Yes they work quit well. On your twisted, red-black-blue conductors, what type of connectors are you using there. Don't think I have seen them before. Keep up the good work Jim.

Sure Alan !
Let me know what you need and I'll be able to print them for a good price.
The advantage of 3D printing is that I can change the scale of the parts anytime. The GBUs bombs for example can be printed at 1/6th scale but also at 1/3 or 1/9th scale.
Same for the TER, as I know this rack is used on F18, F16 for example.
I'm still doing some small tests to save some weight and get a good finish but I'll be definitely interested in selling some ordnance when I get mine finished.

Quick update, I've finished the installation of the details4scale ladder. I still need to tune the servo movements a little but here is a quick vid of it in action :

Hey Jim
That is pretty neat. Does Dan have that run by one of his sequence controllers. I have used the door compartment for all battery bulkhead charging stations. Ya I would slow down the speed of the door servo a bit, but as you say you are still fine tuning it. Neat system like I say though.

Hi All
I looked at Alan's A10 this summer and realized that it would be impossible for me to load and transport it with Tail and the engines attached in a Honda Pilot but I still want one. If you have experience with taking this plane apart, can you please let me know that if it is realistic to assemble and dis-assemble the tail and engines every time for flying ? At our field, we have a window of 3-4 hours with good light for flying so time that it would take to put it together is important.
Thanks
Behzad

Hi Behzad,
This may not help but even assembling the plane with wings was enough for me. Have you considered a trailer, even something not too fancy could make it really nice for the plane and in the long run save time and hangar rash.
In 2008 I bought a featherlite trailer and had it modified a little and it has been great for managing an F16, UB on top and the A10 on the bottom.
I am sure you can do it with a Pilot and especially if you look at some of Oli's electrical connectors for the nacelles. The new horizontal stab does only require two bolts and 4 servos plugs. I would think that organizing the wings, stab (with rudders on the stab) and nacelles in the car would be a balancing act as well.
I had built a "stretcher" for the plane that it could sit on with all the scale stuff assembled. Then it could be pulled out of the trailer and kept off the ground, wings then assembled and gear down. IT was easy to deal with that way and protected the plane pretty well.
Just my two cents. Good luck
Dave

Hi Dave
I still use the stretcher on the new A-10 and I let Behzad experiment moving it around a little bit with the A-10 to give him a feel for what it was like to have only the fuselage on it, when I was at Jets over Whidbey this summer. I think he has an appreciation of how that works. But Behzad, Dave has a good suggestion about getting a trailer. For this type of plane I think it is a good investment, as well all the other nice jets you have. Maybe you can talk Bill into selling his and he can upgrade to a new one.

Hi Dave
thank you so much for your advise. Unfortunately our neighborhood does not allow trailers in the driveway and the garages are full so that Is not a possibility at this time. Also, we fly at Whidbey Island navy practice field and have to take the ferry there and it would cost about $50.00 to take the ferry and back. The reason I started looking at it today again is that the Euro is 1.07 or 1.08 and that makes the price attractive.
Pilot has good room. I fit a Skygate Hawk with the stabs attached in it. But A10 is much more bulky. I have seen here that Jack fits his in a van but I was trying to get a feel of the assembly time.
thanks again.

Hi Alan
you know I want the A10 and have already bothered Oli with it. I am trying to sort out transportation so I don't get stock with it in the garage. As I mentioned to Dave, I don't have a parking place for the trailer. Otherwise, it would have been done.
We will talk.

The tail engine pods and wings all connect on a single plug each.
This renders the setup at the field much easier.

Hello Behzad,
I'm in the same boat as you mate. I need to disassemble the pods, tails and everything to fit the parts in 2 large boxes. I'm using a Toyota RAV4 with a roof rack for the fuse box.
So far I still haven't done the maiden but I can tell you that with a good loom system (the one from OLI or powerbox) and it should not be too complicated or time consumming to get the plane running.
Of course the trailer is a lot easier but if you have to choose between having an A10 and loosing 30 minutes at the field everytime or not having an A10, you already got my choice
For information my A10 is still in the painting process and I need to find some motivation to finish the cockpit. But maiden is still planned this spring hopefully !
I'll post some pictures I've done late summer with all type of ordnance I've printed so far.

thank you for your feedback. That is amazing. Rav 4 is a lot smaller than the pilot. I currently fit a Large Futura and an Electra with all the support equipment inside and still have the front seat open so this is a good possibility. Of course, A10 has stuff on the bottom but that could be managed.
Thanks again.
