In the pictures it might look like there's a lot of butchering but at the flying field you really can't tell at a glance.
Cool, thanks.

I've ordered the Tamjets stuts as well. The tracking shows them as 'Delivered', but I haven't got them. I'm hoping that whoever has, sends them on to me. When they arrive, I vow to make time to get her together. I've been side tracked by preparing an F16 that I bought. Too many planes, insufficient time.

Hello, I think is best option the New 1.3L tank, but would be best that someone that has one mini with K45, tell us his experience with this turbine size.

Thanks
Carlos

I have the 1.3L and can get 7min flight time with throttle management. Fits perfect.

Do you have any photos of your engine and pipe install? Interested to see if the pipe sticks out of the back of plane, also, wanted to see the engine placement on the rails. How far is the pipe bell from the engine?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Alex

Get the CG on the forward main gear screw or a little aft.. it will fly like a pattern bird and land at a nice pitch angle like a baby butterfly..

I just flew my 8S mini at that CG.. it was near perfect..

I fly with the 1,7L version, as it was the only one available at that time. You need to cut away some of the ducting, but besides that the installation was pretty easy.

With throttle management I get 9 minutes of flight time. I understood from others that when flying from grass this might be too much weight for the landing gear, but that is not an issue for me as I fly from tarmac.

So far, I have made 90+ flights and it has been my favorite jet

Everything is ordered for my Mini-Avanti.. It'll be waiting for me when I get home in August to build and hopefully fly before I return to the sand.
Kingtech K45G2
CMJets 1.3L tank
JP 50mm Wheels and Brakes
TamJets pipe
MKS HV93 servos

Should be a fun little airplane to go alongside whatever I get when I get home from this hell hole in December.

I am using a Tamjets mini UAT. It uses the same "sock" as the BVM version, but is a lot smaller.

With it I have been flying more than 20 hours and over 100 starts and not a single bubble ever.

Thanks, I will order one from Tam's.
Are you using Tam's pipe? and if so, how far is it from the engines exhaust. Do you have any photos?

I did not use the Tamjets pipe but the double walled one from Grumania. I cut down the bell mouth so it fitted in between the engine rails, which enabled me to slide it more forward. You want to have the engine as much forward as possible.

I can make some pics later

Pictures would be great. Did you have any heat issues in the aft fuselage? Did you have to install any thermal protection?

Nope, no heat issues at all, even when the Grumania pipe is closing most of the rear exit of the fuse.

Here we have several people flying this combination and the temperatures are at least 33 degrees C when we fly. Not a single problem so far.

Here no problem with the stock Grumania pipe just sitting behind the aft former (little bit fuzzling to get it in) and CG, LiPo`s/LiFe in front and it balance well.
Build 2 that way for a customer and fly`s great with it, also no heat issues in the rear.

Best regards,
Berto.

On my smaller builds... I just put a felt clunk in the tank. It will wick every last drop out of the tank. OR.... I use a 2 oz dubro tank with a felt clunk as my bubble tank Its small, so it's easy to fit it somewhere.

I personally stopped buying the +$50 bubble tanks. I've had way too many leaks at the cap. (spilt fuel, and flame outs) It cost about $10 to get a small dubro tank and a Weber felt clunk. (They never leak if put together properly)

I am refurbishing a K45 install in the the Mini Avanti. The original builder added 1/8"/3mm spacers under the mounting flanges of the turbine. It appears to me that the turbine mounting flanges are on center so these should not be needed??

Hi guys, I am having some issues with the sequencer of my mini avanti. When I cycle the gears to go down, the doors will NOT SHUT when the gear is down and locked. Is there a way to fix this?

Some pics of my setup.
