Thanks

The wheels are 50mm.

By the way has anyone looked at max temps of the k45. I'm getting around 750-760 C at max throttle and around 550-560 C on idle. Is my max temp too high?

I just checked a download I did on mine and I have 440 C at 55,000 rpm and at full power I have 680c at 176,000 rpm. Are you sure that the ducting is not causing higher temperatures or was that run in the open on a test bench?

It does vary according to the ambient temperature but on that day was about 15C. My full rpm is probably set higher than yours. Mine was running nice low temperatures so could stand a higher rpm. Mine has now had about 226 mins run time.

Looks like yours is ok but at the upper end of the normal range what is your max rpm set at?

So much for beating up the gears on an junk yard grass field...

Could you tell me, could/can i recall these figures from the GSU or do i need the program on a laptop?

Can't get the figurers out of my GSU, must be finger trouble tough or RTFM.... i never go in to these things, i just fill up and fly and that worked ok so far for me.
Never did any bench test.

The ECU retains 1 hour record of the engine parameters at .5 sec intervals. You need the Xicoy FADEC USB adapter cable and the free program. It runs on Windows only. You can download the text file and look at it in a text editor but much better to use Excel to fit it into columns and make graphs etc. You will not get the figures out of the GSU.

Carlos,

Would it be possible to make dual tank (fuel/smoke) 1.5L and 0.5L respectively? What would be the cost?
Thanks in advance

i did not pay attention to the RPM but I have not touched any parameters I'll note the RPM on the subsequent run. This was the first several runs of the engine. The end of the exhaust cone of the k45 is exactly 3/4" freon the bell mouth of the Tam's pipe. Also I noticed that the fuselage gets fairly warm all around this area. The ambient temp was at 25C.

I noticed that the fuselage was pretty warm also, ambient temp was about 10C.

I will try to remember to look on the next flights what the temp. is on idle and full throttle, cause i don't have the cable and i sure as hell am not using windows

Hey Mike, looks like you have a Tam pipe? If yes, 3/4" from the back is right.. I wouldn't worry about the heat unless you physically can't keep your hand on it. If you're really worried, you could paint some BVM heat shield or get a blanket, but enough of us are running this as a turbine with no problems. Just judging by your radio install, shows you aren't a hack.... ;-) I'm sure you installed the pipe properly. Looks great!

Thanks. It's a Tam pipe. To get the correct distances the pipe sticks out of the back of the fuse 6mm. I can keep my hand on the fuse without any problems during startup and run. I thought about BVM heat sheild and a blanket (I have both) but wanted to keep the wight down as much as possible. It balanced perfectly at 145 mm. This is a 40oz RotoFlow tank. Here are some more pics.

I bet you do ;-)

And I have a cable so when wemeet I could connect the ECU to the laptop and read out your K45G memory.
Do that occasionally with all Kingtech customer turbines.

Grt,
Berto.

I am planning to buy mini avanti to combine with kolibiri t35. Which pipe would you reccomend? Original one is for P20 do I need to get a bigger pipe from tamjets or grumania?

Go for the K45, far out superb combo!

Did another 8 Super flights today.
Man i like this little toy, it's an fun plane in all aspects.
Lifted up the nose gear with 5mm and swapped the main wheels to 57mm and that made all the difference on our junkyard/put hole/sponge grass field.
The little one took it all and the gears are still alive and kicking and i can asure you they get some beating on our field!!

The gyro i'm gonna take out, it drives me crazy and this bird really does not need one.

Excellent day, can't wait for the next one

The Grumania P20 pipe works great with the T35.
Around 80 flights so far with this combo, going strong.

Chatty.

I just maidened mine with a K45. Flies great. I'm not sure if I like the gyro on this plane. Flies great with the gyro off. Plenty of power.

Threw my gyro out also, gyro is a nice toy, but this bird really does not need one.

I said that earlier, it tracks so well, really no need. I got three flights each yesterday with the middle size Avanti and baby brother. Our rough field played hell with the nose gear. I may replace the aluminum pin with a steel one. I doubt it is, but it feels much faster than the big one. Sense of scale plays with your brain. When I first got it, I was tentative about flying full throttle. Since then, I've done a ton of full throttle passes and turns. No problems. Just need to toughen up the nose gear for my bumpy field.

I like using gyros and have a gyro in all my jets. For some reason I could not get the gyro set correctly. The plane was oscillating and so I thought it was a lot of gain and I lowered it from 40% to 15% in increments and was still oscillating. Then I thought maybe its not enough so raised the gain to 45% then to 50%. Still oscillating a bit and not sure if it needs more. After 9 flights I just could not figure out what was happening. So I flew with gyro turned off and it was great.
