Sebart Mini Avanti w/ K45 build thread

I know what you mean, i got the CM jet 1.7 liter in both, but to be honest from grass the 1.7 is to big, the AUW is just to much for the fragile gears and especially the gear mounting in the wing.
The wings are really china labour, and one tiny tiny mistake and the whole lot wil be ripped to %^&(*^%**#....
I'm talking from experience unfortunately
I don't know from pavement but grass, honestly 1.7 liter is an absolute NoNo!!
Cheers,
Ed
Saying all this.....
Wouldn't it be nice if Mr. Sebart would make an all composite one
Cracking on now with my new K45 project.....

Was looking a Long time for one cause Carf unfortunately stopt building them
I found an brand new one in the box from a guy in Germany.
Lucky me i guess ...
I really think this one has every thing the Mini is lacking and the combo with the K45 will be great.
I'm trying to keep her as light as possible witch till now looks to go really well, with a bit of luck the AUW will exactly the same as my mini.
That's what i was trying to say about manufacturer start building the little one's again
I like that View

It did look similar to my Ultra Flashes!!! I think I will start looking a good clean spark to convert.... Electra is too expensive for what it is and still got to take it apart for transport or storage...

That's where i came from, i saw some vids from the Spark with the wren, so that's where my search started and lucky me i found an brand new one
Made an other few flights today withe the mini, but on the last one i forgot to reset the timer so it kept on going....... arrrgggg
So had an nasty flame out in high winds with an bone dry tank......
I almost made it to the field just barely but mist it and the wonderfull tam strut's saved the day
As in, only 3 gear pin's to replace, they just snaped of nice and clean with no further damage to the bird itself
Close one....

If we just combine forces, maybe we can make them produce again

Maiden of the red (nr.2) one was an succes.
Absolutely painless and 0 trim needed. it's just funny to see that 2 exactly the same brid's with exactly the same set up all the way do fly that different
Must say that the red one compared to the blue one is harder to see in flight.
Did 8 flight's on the first day

I use the kingtech 2100 for everything on board including electric brakes... Just one battery to keep the weight down. Each flight consumes approx 350 mah including cool down after 6 min flight ... I use HV MKS servos and cortex gyro (of course)

I use the Hacker 1300mah LiFe and i get 4 starts out of them and aprox. 5/6 min. when i shut down.
I could go for an 5th start but i just don't want to push it so i swap battery pack to a new one.
For RX i use 2x 900mah this takes me through the whole day

I didn't shim mine and it seems to rotate just fine , I think flying off grass the main trailing links move back giving it a positive attitude ..see video

Hi guys,
I've pulled the trigger on a Mini Avanti with K45. I use Futaba equipment and on my large models and jets I normally go for JR servo's. Please can you guys that are flying this model, using Futaba, what mini/micro servo's you are using on the wings (ailerons and flaps) and the tail section (elevators and rudder).
Any suggestions regarding setup, control throws and c of g for the maiden flight will also be appreciated. What is to total all-up empty weight that I am aiming for? The best fuel tank to use (32 or 50 oz)?
Thanks for your input.

My Feedback: (167)
I just started flying mine at KY Jets this year. I used Hitec 5087 high voltage servos because they are a drop in fit with no modification to the servo pockets. Some of the servos being used are very small and need a tab to be added but the 5087 bolts right in and is more than adequate for the plane. Only the rudder mounting needs to be modified if you use the 5087's but you could get a smaller servo just for the rudder if you like. For a fuel tank I ordered the cmjets 1.7 L Kevlar tank which gives really long flight time. At first I thought it might be heavy with this much fuel but it is not a problem at all. I also installed tams pipe and replacement struts. He can also add electric brakes when you order the struts and then you have no on-board air systems. The JP brakes work very well.
You will really like the plane. It flies great.

I've seen a few people replacing the wheels for slightly larger foam versions. I will be flying mainly off grass. Any recommendations please (I have the Tam jet struts just not fitted them yet).
Dont need brakes.

My Feedback: (30)
I received my mini avanti today, and I am having some issues with the sequencer for nose gear door.... it does not work. The sequencer is connected to my gear channel on the radio through voltage regulator. The retract would go up and down but the servos for the gear doors are not working. I could hear the servo buzzing but they are not working. I have disconnected the servo horns but still the servos don’t work. I have also connected the gear door servos directly to the voltage regulator and they are working fine but when I connect the servos to the sequencer, they don’t work. I have checked the connection, and everything looks fine. Has anyone had this issue? Any suggestions?
