I have the jet 1A struts. My concern was if the JP sequence controller would be ok with a 2s life battery. I have been setting up and checking the nose gear and doors with a life battery and not seen any smoke yet ☺

I've built a red white and blue version with the 8S 90mm EDF and now starting the build on my yellow, red and black Mini Avanti that will be turbine. I was all set to pull the trigger on the KingTech K45G2 and noticed a new engine is now available. I talked to Dirk at Pacific RC Jets about it and the new K45G3M is out. The difference is that it is now, essentially, the same size as the K30. It weighs in at 450g compared to the G2 at 700g but produces the same amount of thrust. It's like $110 more but to save 250g....I've done pulled the trigger on the G3. Dirk and Kingtech also say it has the new ECU. I'm not sure what the difference is between the G2 and G3 concerning the ECU...yet.
CMJets is building my 1.3L tank and I'll have Peter from Baja do my pipe. Cannot wait.

Hey Guys,
Recently pulled the trigger on Sebarts Mini Avanti which I'll be powering with the Xicoy X45 ... Some help with the following would be appreciated.
1) Those familiar with the X45, would you agree she burns roughly 100/ml per minute at 50% throttle? Thinking of going with a CM Jets Kero/Smoke combo.
2) Can anyone suggest an optimal smoke kit/system for such?
3) Any reason Mobil Jet Oil II is a problem?
3) Suggested UAT?
4) Suggested ball links, size and clevis? Simply prefer using such over the stock linkage.
5) Suggested voltage regulator combined power switch for HV? Thinking Emcotec may be the way to go?
6) Should I consider using epoxy on all hinges versus CA?
7) Are either 55 to 60mm JP mains too large for the cut outs?
8) Is the front wheel a 40 mm? Hoping I can go with 55 mains and matching front wheel that doesn't create a rake effect..
Thanks,
Raz

1. I don’t have any data to tell but I trust their engine spec, like the idle thrust is minimal, similar to what they say,
3. I am using Mobil jet oil, no abnormally found
3. My UAT is made by Spark, a one piece plastic small tank with metal filtering element hard mounted in the center of the tank. Pretty reliable but I want to get rid of it to save weight
4. I use ball links and balls from my helicopter spare, like JR or Hirobo make
5. I don’t use any voltage regulator on board, just 2 1500 mAH LiPo.
6. I use CA on all hinges except epoxy in flap hinges
7. I use 45mm JP brake wheels, to make it lighter. The catch is to replace the bearings with quality ones. The point , I think is not the wheels, it is the strut spring rate. The later version of M Avanti comes standard with the new version strut which is softer, can absorb shock load during hard landing.
8. I use 40mm JP wheel at the front .
hope this help

Hi Guys,
Can anyone suggest their preferred ball link size and clevis upgrades for the control linkage?
Any reason I shouldn't use epoxy on all hinges versus CA?
Does anyone know whether the 55 mm JP Hobby main wheels/brakes fit the existing cutouts without problem when retracted?
Has anyone tried either a 45 or 50 mm JP Hobby nose wheel? Curious if either fit without modifications..
Thanks,
Raz

Hi Guys,
Can anyone suggest their preferred ball link size and clevis upgrades for the control linkage? I use Dubro Clevis's on both ends and I also turn the Flap control horn around for better mechnical advantage!
Any reason I shouldn't use epoxy on all hinges versus CA? Because the hinges are designed to be glued with CA
Does anyone know whether the 55 mm JP Hobby main wheels/brakes fit the existing cutouts without problem when retracted? You should buy the better struts available from www.Effluxrc.com

Thanks Bob,
What size ball links do you prefer? I'll consider reversing the flap horn, appreciate the tip. Still waiting on my Avanti to ship..
I thought the hinges may be, but have read others have had problems with CA holding up..
The latest Avanti version (v3) should have plenty strong enough struts from what I understand. Simply hoping I can run 55 mm wheels without cutout modification. Same for a larger nose wheel..

I might be wrong but I believe what is referred to as the V2 and V3 is actually the same version. If so, and the struts haven’t changed, then they are perfect for hard surfaces and workable for very short grass, but for my next Sebart mini size model I will be fitting upgraded struts for long term grass use.

I use clevis's not ball links.
DON'T use accelerator when you glue the CA Hinges in place.
The struts are Okay, just offering a superior solution.
