Default Aerocircus Jets 2015 - Joinville/ SC / Brazil

Hi everybody! here are some pics I took last week of one of the nicest r/c clubs I ever seen. The Aerocircus RC club from Joinville, (despite the german name) located in Brazil.

This meeting is a invitational wich the same bunch of friends meet every year to fly and chat together, and also meet new friends, or online friends wich share the same interest we have here... rc jets.

I took some pictures with my cellphone the little time I had available.. I had a great time talking with many people, watching incredible planes and flights, learning a lot and also having a good time flying my plane.

The amount of work the Aerocircus club had was huge, but it was very well done.. a impressive job . I really canīt ask for more! The club sent me a few days ago a email requesting for any idea or suggestion, but I didnīt managed to add any idea yet.. I can only write a big thank you as a reply for such a good work done.

Weather was very good, close to perfect.. not too cold or warm. I arrived friday morning and the place was buzzing with activity.. everybody here are accomplished pilots and the action was non stop .. most of the time were flying 4 jets at the same time.

The variety of planes were outstanding... many bandits and flashes, but most airplanes were one-offs..

About the J-10, no less than three showed up in the meeting.. all of them twisting, hovering, etc.. Michel Gonchorovskiīs one even fitted with the smoke cartridge in the wingtips, like Enricoīs Thater plane from last year.. all the J10īs did a great show.

My weapon of choice was my old SM F-18, one of the first ones ever produced.. not being known for being the easiest plane to fly this one is a good old friend.. Is about 10 years old, been flying it since 2010 with two heli gyros and really enjoy it. It has a Jetcat 120 on it.

Had a bit of a scare on it in the last day, when the hatch blew off! First thing I thinked was a rudder was gone, but then I realized that it was the hatch.. knowing that flying without the hatch I loose a lot of lift and add a lot of drag, I landed with a good amount of extra speed, taking advantage of the long runway of the facilities.. no problem whatsover. What caused the problem was the hatch mechanism unglued from the hatch.. no big deal.

People enjoyed also watching this plane fly, and the best appraisal I could think of was somebody that said that it really looked like the real thing in the big loops and barrel rolls. (watching the blues doing the routine in youtube certainly helps! :-) )

How do you sneak a prop piston plane into a jet event? Easy! Make it look and sound great.. the big moki radial sound and performance is fantastic... This is the carf kit.

Another nice plane in the event was Gabriel Pelegrinni BVM F100 fresh from topgun.. very nice flying and detailed plane. Now powered by a kingtech K210.. and this is a recent interview from Model Airplane News about his plane when he was in Florida.

This is a video with the plane line up for the official picture at saturdayīs... less than half of the jets where lined up in the runway! Only the ones that were flying recently and handier to take were picked up.. we didnīt want to spend too much time grounded! Also some extra pics in the video too.

You are welcome Pedro! Not the best or worst country in the world, but with some of the finest modelers and r/c clubs you can find around.,,.. :-)

About crashes, we had a few, but without any fire fortunately. The worst one wich was a total loss was caused by some undertermined radio or electrical issue.. the failsafe was triggered and the plane went in. All the rest were caused by engine flameouts..and all the planes were repairable.

Talking with the people who had this problem seemed that the ECU shutting down the engine due to watchdog triggered problems was the main cause.. restricted flow in the fuel system was the most common problem. The big engines around 200N of thrust need 8mm fuel lines and fittings, the around 150N engines need 6mm and so on. Anyway, this nice club with its long runway and great scape areas maked much easier to handle a emergency landing.

And the loudest thing in the meeting.. we know it is not a turbine jet, but ... who cares? This guy is a friend of us and a rc jet pioneer. This pulsejet is 80N thrust and pushes this model at about 200 mph.. this was so loud that the ground shaked at 50 feet from the place it was started up. Also a smaller pulse was flown late at night.. guess that this plane have waken people even in Venezuela!

Great to meet you here Juan.. and interesting that you said that this is paradise. I think paradise is everywhere and vice versa., it depends on how do you see things, how do you relate to others , and how you work on your own land. The Aerocircus club and this jet event is the result of years of hard working from great people, and a meeting like this one is the natural result from such work, wich was not easy. All the Aerocircus club members and Marco Camilotti did absolutely their best to pamper us in their gorgeous place,

BTW Thanks Quandry!

Most of the big tomahawks were powered by Jetcentralīs mammoths... fantastic fliers.

The size of this planes also made life a bit easier to the two heroes. Jose and Milton that put order on the traffic control.. not a single incident or close call in three days of many flights.
