Looks like a little problem on the landing or roll out?

Looks like the wheels are off the ground and it is skidding sideways and one main gear is twisted on the taxi back.

It is really weird picture, but looks like a landing on a cross runway similar the one we have in Pensacola, FL maybe Marc, as he was there, can explain better.

I think you're right Wagner. That would explain it.

Yes Mark, it does but this is not Xtreme stock gear, maybe gear should be tighten a little more.

Anyone is doing the split fuselage for day to day flying ? I wonder how practical is with all the stuff (electronics , fuel tanks, air lines, etc) we have inside the fuselage.

It is very practical
You only have servo leads to the aft fuselage
If you look at my thread for the prototype you will see

Hi guys, just a quick update as manic getting ready for Jetpower.

As Wagner mentioned the landing gear is not 'stock', the units fitted are EVO50's from Electron and were part of a retrofit option for those who might be interested in all electric gear. The gear leg has four grub screws and my mistake was to not tighten the two grub screws in the trunion so on the first landing following a quick turn to vacate the runway the main gear twisted. I properly tightened the grub screws after re-alignment and the following two fights were perfect with no issues on twisting of the gear.

The maiden went well, CG was right on the money and no lead was needed, just two 2s lipo Rx batteries placed in the special nose box gave perfect balance. The aileron throws needed more movement and slightly more down elevator on full flap from the numbers Rich kindly gave out on the original demo Vixen. Three flights were made and the final flight was very clean and smooth, landing approach on turbine idle was a peach and once on the ground it stayed put so the spring rates seem to also be good.

It was a busy hectic day so a few pictures posted are currently all I believe are available, at jetpower we have a flying slot on each of the three show days and I know there will be loads more pictures and video to follow.

Great comments all day from other pilots and a nice flying jet.

many thanks go to Azza Stephens who test flew on the day and will also do the flying at Jetpower this weekend.

One quick note on the speed brake. We opted not to use it simply due to the fact I did not have enough time to program up the sequencer on the nose gear door through the Electron ECU and a decision was made on the day to allocate the speed brake Rx channel to drive the nose gear door on a Tx switch.

Hopefully at Jetpower we will have the time to sort this out and deploy the brake during the demo flights.

Congratulations on your Maiden Marc, now you know the pressure I was under with getting the prototype ready for its first flight

Please post lots of photos from Jet Power, I wish I could have made it this year...

Try to keep Wagner in line... LOL

Hi, a friend shot one flight on a video camera which was OK but the camera was not 'high res', I'm hoping we get some from the crowds who watched.

What we did get were three videos from on-board cameras, one placed on the fin facing forwards, one on the wing facing nose/forwards and one on the belly facing forwards showing gear/flaps etc. These Wagner has and will process when he returns home and post on the forum.

The flights went well, Azza my pilot was getting more relaxed every flight and now we have the throws sorted (all bar a little more elevator) we will do more flying in the UK and start to explore its full potential. Most of the flights at Jetpower were on 50% throttle with the Atom250 as it delivers huge power and we only had 5L of fuel on board for the show plane, this will increase once the new tanks are made to around 6-7L which will allow a more vigerous use of throttle.

She looks really superb in the sky and tracks like an arrow.

Marc, now you see how difficult it is to get "a decent video camera and operator"

Not a high quality video by any stretch of the imagination but a video nonetheless, seems nobody I can find actually took any which is somewhat incredible to believe.

Hope it gives a general impression on the why she flies

Plan to do a proper video in a month or so back here in the UK.
