Ok guys, just going to be honest. Woke up this morning to a new terminal area forecast. Winds 110@12kts today. Not bad and somewhat manageable. Tomorrow morning, 40% chance of rain with same winds with it clearing out by noon. I'll keep close tabs on it and just wanted to keep you updated.

Had a great day today. Wind was a quartering crosswind but manageable, temps in the mid 70's. We started out slow since we look into the sun but a brave soul took off around 10am and by 11 there was non stop flying from then on until 7 tonight. Have a few more coming tomorrow and a fajita dinner at our house tomorrow night. Lots of friend reunions and great flying. Here are a few pics from today. Rain has been taken out of the forecast luckily

Well, West Texas Jets 2015 is in the books. I hope everybody had a great time. The weather didn't cooperate completely but we still had lots of flying including today with rainshowers thrown in to keep us on our toes. A crosswind didn't even stop them. Many pilots took advantage of our 75 x 1200 ft runway with zero obstacles in all directions. We had TWO Mibo A-10 beasts flying today putting on their super scale flights with 120 degree banking and low to the ground flights in attack mode. Lots of Bobcats, KingCats and Flashes flying. Even had a new BVM Jets Cougar. Just a great time. What was really super was seeing old friends and meeting new friends and spreading the information around. Winners were Robert Bernal from Houston with a Mibo A-10 for Best Scale Flight, Pilot's choice was another A-10 with the team of Don Perry and David Goss from the OKC area and finally the Top Gun awarded to Parker Ferguson from Norman, OK. You could see him everywhere during the meet, helping out many pilots with spotting, fueling and radio advice. Just a great guy passing on his love for jets. A much deserved award. He put in probably 20 flights through windy/rainy conditions with his Bobcat and Ultra Flash. We finished it off with a great dinner tonight put on by my wife and daughter in law. Fajitas for everybody with plenty of 2nd's and 3rd's. Overall, a great time had by all. Wish the weather cooperated more but people adapted well and didn't let it bother them. Hopefully, some of the attendees will post a bunch of pics. Thanks for coming!

I had fun, even though the weather didn't cooperate much. As usual, there were lots of neat models to see. The dinner last night was fantastic. Thanks to John for pulling everything together. I didn't get nearly as many photos as usual, but here are the best of the bunch.

Despite not even taking an airplane out of the truck (wind & rain) West Texas Jets was one GREAT event. What a treat to meet new friends and swap old stories. Many congratulations to the entire WMAC group for your hard work and dedication in putting this event on and continuing to grow this addiction we all call RC Jets . Carole and I have permanently calendared this rally for future years. Mac Davis got it wrong as "Happiness is not having Lubbock in the rear view mirror". It's looking forward to returning next year.......

John, you did an outstanding job of organizing and putting on another successful West Texas Jets! Thanks to you and your family for a wonderfully hosted dinner at your pad. It was over the top! We'll get the weather dialed in properly here sometime! Great time despite the wind and light rain.
PLEASE consider leading this bunch again next year for another great jet event! You do such a good job!
Thanks to all the participants for bringing out your best Jets and thanks for all that helped me with my engine trouble.

I agree with Bryan!! Good Job, well run, lotsa fun (even if we had to watch it rain part of the time)! Wouldn't miss it for the world. Fajitas were outta this world. Ate way too much, but really enjoyed it for sure!!
Let's keep rolling along. More visitors each year. More fun each year!!
Congratulations on a very successful event (again!!)
