Cheers Geoff, so same way the current raft of big Hawks are done - was wondering if he would have used and designed an clever new system which allows for redundancy.

That nose gear setup looks very nice and clean Anton! Locking mechanism saves a lot of space and extra components. Very nice, works very well on the nose gear of my F-14.

Can someone post a picture of the model sat on tarmac RTF. There is just something that looks wrong with the length of the gear or maybe the spring rates? Skymaster always always get the gear spot on so I'd be surprised if they made a mistake on this one - but it just doesn't look right. Here's how a large Hawk should look sat on its gear....

Interesting you're posting pictures of models as examples instead of posting pictures of the full size airplanes .

It does sit up pretty high. Well high enough to be able to carry a centerline tank!

My pics were all actually all of the Tomahawk Hawk as they're the same size ;-)

Anyway, Danny are you able to confirm the gear is 100% scale in terms of length etc. Anton always told me his intention was for this Hawk to be competition ready so I'd have thought the gear would be spot on. I just can't see it being right - I've been a Hawk aficionado for about 10yrs and something is jarring with me. Like I said, maybe the wrong strength springs are in place at the moment and it's just squatting too much.....

Well there ya go! As far as the height, on the picture of it on the ground, it has the gear on without the struts charged as Anton mentioned. He was waiting to install all the components to then charge the struts and figure out the correct pressure. You can ask him directly as he posts and views this forum but you should wait until it is completed so were not jumping the gun. Should be test flying it soon and at that point the struts will be charged and correct.

See above where he responds to the low position. You can see that the main struts are compressed. Come on man! You know Likai is the master of gear making. Guy goes out with a ruler to measure full scale gear!

Haha! Likai always gets gear spot on, hence my surprise. Ah, you're better at understanding Chinglish than me - if they're not charged then that would explain the sit. Hmmmmm. Is there an AUW with the P200 yet?

There are a few things on website that need adjusting - unless they still need to make a bigger set of gear

I don't understand the confusion. If you pre-order the aircraft you get the gear for less. The plane hasn't been released yet!

Ok hear is my Skygate hawk sitting with full fuel and smoke 62lbs.

I like the the way it sits. Stock springs sit plenty high for the gear doors.

Danny not trying to hijack your thread. I am going to go with a skymasterjet 100 as you well know from you.

I am also really interested to know the real length to see if I can carry it in the Honda Pilot or not. The Skygate fit with 3-4 inches to spare so it would be great to know the exact lengths without the tube.
