Behzad,

I really wonder myself becuase Fly Eagle show to be bigger also but I have seen it person and I really don't think it is any bigger. The Skymaster is saying a bigger wingspan. There are no probes on the wings to make them any wider.

How long is the probe? I will messure mine tonight. The one in the kit

It is a little weird how it went from 1/3.75 to now 1/3.5, but I'm betting nothing fishy. I think they are just confident that they have a winner, & in due time the exact details will be released (just like with previous models). I just want it thoroughly tested.
With that being said, it would be great if someone can whip out a tape measure & give a few true measurements

Any chance I can set up an appointment to fly down & see it once you have it on its gear? Are you receiving a standard, or 100?

My aircraft is a Hawk T1 with Hawk 100 wings. I don't preffer the long nose but love the 100 wings. I will be painting it myself. I don't know where you are but seems it will be quite the trip to come see a plane on its landing gear!

What's the difference in the T1 and 100 wings besides the tip pylons?

Geoff

Do you know what the box to the forward of the elevator is, looks like a powerbox Servo hub/BUS?

Looks like a powerbox servo matcher for the elevator servos.

Yes. The hawk 100 has missile rails and wing drop tank mounts. The T1 has only a centerline tank and no wing tip missile rails.

Hello Skymaster customers, after more review about the size of our new large Hawks, we wish to provide correct scale numbers, we have decided to reclassify our Hawks to 1/3.75 to better match and compare to other competitors models. Without "the probe" measurements, our Hawks are closer to the 1/3.75 scale range. We apologize for any inconvenience and will in the future take better consideration of scale classification. Our most sincere apologies.

Sincerely

Anton

the 1/3.75 Hawk T1 Length is 3180mm ( 125.2") without probe , wingspan is 2630mm (103.5") without tip pylons

Hi Alan,
It's a PB powerbus terminal. It's all part of the powerbox powerbus range of products. The box takes sbus in and then 'decodes' the protocol so that you can connect upto 4 Pwm servos to it.

Cheers Geoff, thought it might be..

Hopefully Weatronic will eventually bring out a Rx BUS system as well, my CARF Hawk is still on FASST/MX24 but gradually moving everything over to the Bat 60

939/263=3.57 so your model is 1:3.57

Not 1:3.75????
Schroedm,

As it states on the statement made by Anton, the scale is based on two competitor models. If we scale it 1:3.5, people will expect sizes comparable to the Tomahawk which is appx 12" longer and advertised as 1:3.5 / 137" long. The Skygate has scaled theirs at 1:3.75 and is only 1" shorter than ours. Your measurements basically says that both Skygate and Tomahawk are off on their scale. We are comparing our model with the current available models so as to make sure there is no confusion in size comparison.

Thanks for your observation.

Danny,

Not getting into a bun fight I don't see what all the fuss is about this. I'm not saying anyone is 'off' - they're not. Each manufacturer is correct on their scale when dealing with span.

Skygate is 250cm. 939/250 = 1:3.75
Tomahawk is 270cm. 939/270 = 1:3.5

SM are in-between at 263cm so, no surprise their scale is in-between at 1:3.57 maybe say 1:3.6???

When you sell a scale model you sell it at the scale you've built it at and not how it compares to other kits? Comparing yours to the size of others doesn't make it any bigger or smaller - it's the size it is!!! (The same applies to this LOL)

No bragging rights or loss of face. It's 363cm span and 318cm long. People just deal with that :-)

does es anyone have a definitive full size T1 length less probe??????

I am making no fuss about it. Just explaining why Skymaster arrived at the scale. No one else is really fussing about the scale issue. As you said in your statement, People will just deal with the numbers but when they call me on a daily basis, I have to explain that it is similar in size to the Skygate and the Skygate is 1/3.75. Why does it matter, because my customers refer to those two other brands to gauge its size. When it said 1/3.5, people immediately assumed it was as big as the Tomahawk which it is not so to reduce the confusion, this change has been beneficial in 99.9% of the cases.
